A friend of mine had a 66 Buick Electra. It had a cloth interior. Such a nice car. I personally liked the dash/instrument cluster on the 66 a bit better. Still this is extremely nice. I really like the wheel covers on this.

Yea I really like the color. Since the interior matches and it is absolutely clean. Man to be back in 1966 diving this thing new!

I never saw one of these without power windows and speed alert. It does have air and nice floor mats. When these are tuned right and have premium fuel and lead substitute they are absolutely divine to drive. Huge amount of torque exhilaration due to the super turbine 400 trans with dual pitch stator and the Wildcat 465 engine (it’s a 401 with 445 ft lbs. of torque. Has very high compression is peak Buick in every way. No labels on the light switch and vent controls to distract from beauty. Those are the best vinyl seats ever produced. They should be analyzed chemically and copied in today’s cars. Thee headliner is a foamy velvet that absorbs what little noise there is. The label says 1966, but this is a 1965 as stated. The 56 and 66 look something alike on the outside, but the instrument panel is different. The 1965 is nicer looking with the big round twin instrument panel. These have a “cold” light too which is very peak Buick too.

Yea man thanks for the extra information. This is a very beautiful car and I didnt know it came equipped as such. I knew they had a 401. You know yes this is a 1965. I dont see how I didnt put it together since I have video from the Adirondack Nationals of a 1965 Wildcat fastback and a local owner has a Wildcat convertible with the similar grille. Geez! My fault.

Their out there this must a base model no power windows they came like that until 1974 that when power windows became standard on all electra's to my knowledge

I had one of these beauties here in New Zealand. I think it was brought down by an American fella that was stationed in Christchurch and was working down on the ice in Antarctica. It was a deep navy blue color with a pearl in it. 65 Electra 225 Custom, what a car. I've never seen upholstery like this one posted, is it out of a Riviera?
@GalaxieMarauder6 ай бұрын
No. Riviera at this time was a smaller car. The Electra was the top of the line Buick model for some years. It is essentially a Buick built onto a Cadillac body. Similar to the Oldsmobile 98.

The lines are simply beautiful on this car. Imagine this on the brand new Interstate system cruising @ 75mph?

@GalaxieMarauder there is one ingredient to a beautiful car and ride. That's wheelbase. Without wheelbase all you have are the blobs we have today.

It's in good condition. A famous car in a good way and, unfortunately, in a bad way

Its in great condition. Keep in mind man the car may have a bad history but it doesnt change its legacy. Same can be said about the 1963 and 1977 Lincoln Continental

@GalaxieMarauder11 ай бұрын
@@adamhanak997 i know that. Sad but still has nothing to do with the legacy of the car. President Kennedy was assassinated in a 1963 Lincoln Continental but that is still one of the best cars from the 1960s. This Buick Electra, Lincoln Continental, Lincoln Town Car, these cars come with a certain repertoire

Oh suprised, no power windows. Although my personal opinion, the 65/66 Electras were some of the best looking full sized 4 door HT sedans in the mid sixties. Good luck with the price your asking.

You guys seems to be really pestered by seeing a 60yr old car in great shape with no power windows. No offense but it really sounds like you re making a mountain out of a molehill because you dont have the money to buy the car. Thats what it sounds like. You show me a 60yr old car in great shape like this and the last thing Im thinking about "does it have power windows?"

people traded these for Toyotas in the 70s 🙄
@GalaxieMarauder Жыл бұрын
That didnt happen until the late 1970. As a commuter car the toyota was better but as a touring car it didnt compare. But most of these Buick buyers stayed with GM as long as possible. Buick did have compact models before the subcompact Skyhawk came in 1976.
