He wants it repainted all one color, trans rebuilt, sure grip in rear, the 360 that I built, vintage A/C kit, new springs in rear. Basically make it an awesome daily driver. I have a few more videos up now on it, and won’t quit until it’s done.

That makes me miss my 440 65 Cornet 440 street car. I had back in the 80s. I gave my brother the 440 for his Ramcharger and the body because he had a 65 cornet 500 . So he could make one nice one . The he scraped them both.

I just love those early B body Mopars. A well built 360 is the perfect engine for those cars. I know everyone likes the big blocks, including yours truly but the 340/360 fits better, better power to weight ratio. Run a 727 and that 8 3/4 rear end, can't go wrong. Looking forward to seeing the swap Joe. 👍

Cool car, reminds me of a 65 belvedere I had a couple years ago, it was a slick old car but I just couldn't get into it because it was a 4 door. I'm starting to change my mind nowadays about the 4 doors, wish I'd kept it now!

That is a clean 65. I prefer leaving the hood on too. I learned to do that working by myself on most of my projects. Cool project, Joe.

Thanks Garry. It was luck that I had help this day. The hood will come off for cleaning, painting, etc. But it takes up a lot of space! The longer it’s off, the more likely it is to get knocked over, scuffed up, etc.

Good deal! This one was a breeze to work on. There was 4-5 inches between the firewall and bellhousing bolts. I'm used to my barracuda having them shoved into it. Thanks for checking out the channel! Good luck on getting to 500 subs! See you in Sikeston.

My 65 post sedan /6 car is going 528 aluminum hemi, and Passon OD Hemi 4 sp. Strange super 60 out back...a 4 door like that was sacrificed for parts for my sedan. Sucks, I know but 20 yrs ago a 4 d wasn't worth sheet....cool build BTW

Your 65 will be a beast! This one deserves a second chance. A strong 360, rebuilt Trans, and sure grip is in it's future. Also has new rear springs, Shocks all around, and more!

@Jeray Racing this one is 9.5/1 with a good purple shaft cam, ported heads and intake. I have the recurved distributor in as well with the fbo plate and springs. I would hope for around 350 horse and 400 foot pounds.

I don't know if I told you this before, Joe, but I own a 65' Coronet 500!!! So0, I know 1 or 2 things about them. One that is extremely important is that these have cable shifter transmissions. Not like what most are used to. This has 2 cables. 1 is for reverse through 1st. and the other is for PARK ONLY... This is very important to know because these cables, like most others, STRETCH... So when they do this it makes putting the tranny in PARK quite wrong. Many of these cars were crashed front and back due to NOT being in PARK when the shifter said they were. Due to this you will normally see headlight doors kinked on the outside corners. Back in the days of these cars, everyone was taught to park with your tires to the curb. 65' was the LAST year of this.. So, try to find new cables for it now as they are already a bear to find and if this car stays a column shifted car, (in factory form), OR a console shifted car, (different length cables), it will need them. Also the trunk medallion should be gone over. In time they end up in the wind. Mine has been gone you decades and they want a small fortune for an aftermarket one. Forget about OEM!! I was only born with 2 legs!! This car looks to be in really great shape. When you opened the video with, what can be done with these, I was thinking that I hoped it had a really good drivers fender I could buy... Also, like all old mopars, the wiper captains WILL need new seals.. Also, that has a 1 year only transmission in it. Cable shift with slip yoke.. If you ever exchange it for a newer tranny, that one is worth a lot of bucks!!! I'd love to know what rear disc set this is fitting a 14 inch wheel on it???? Oh and yeah, SURE GRIP!!! It is a MOPAR!!!! ;)

Thanks Steve! You did mention that. I have an expert on torqueflites redoing this one. I do have this style 904 from the barracuda when I bought it, but this has a 727 style pan. I also have the 65' big block transmission that has similar cable set up, if you need it.

Thanks for the offer, but I am going with a 66' and newer tranny and a aftermarket ratchet shifter. Only I am going to make it utilize mechanical linkages similar to a Charger etc. I'm just waiting to get the go ahead from the doctors and I'll be back at it.

@@JustMoparJoe That sounds like a good solution. Seems like more people are opting to keep their old-style transmissions. Might be some good content to share with viewers, as everybody loves engine work, but it means little if you can't get it to the pavement. I always liked the pushbutton shifter, a nice 'sleeper' item a lot of non-Mopar people fail to recognize. Anyway, some people mistakenly seem to think the flex plate bolts center the converter. There were crankshaft register inserts that looked like a cam bearing to reduce the modern crankshaft register I.D. to center the smaller early torque converter snout diameter. I front halfed my pushbutton 904 with later parts but that was lots more work. You and the people you work with know a lot, maybe save some folks money, time, and grief. Keep up the good work!

The poly can be built and used. But the aftermarket support is not like an LA or a big block. For 1/2 the cost, you can build a strong 360. I think the last 4 barrel poly intake I saw was $800.
