I have a numbers matching 64 1/2 K code in silver smoke gray with the original mufflers on it. They’re stamped May of 64. My grandpa introduced me to the K code when he bought one in 1997 which he passed down to me and I promised him I’d never sell it. I’ve been so infatuated with that car for the last 20 years and that will never change.

I was fortunate to buy a 66 Mustang Fastback 4-speed Hypo back in the 70s for $1000. I modified it to around 350 hp and put diamond tuck and roll seats in. Had great times in that car, with the back seat folding down flat with the trunk and a Pioneer 8-track!

I've always loved the ford mustang ever since I was a lil boy even if tho my family is a GM family. Hopefully 1 day i get to own a classic ford mustang! The first time I saw a ford mustang I was 5 years old and I've always loved them .

EXACTLY like my Moms. She's had hers since college, and I've been fascinated by it my whole life. Same Rangoon red color, 289, 3 on the floor, almost everything is the same. This will be a landmark year in my life because this is the year that the car was gifted to me by Mom. I have asked her for years to hand the keys over so I could get it back on the road (although it's in great shape as is; it was restored in the late 80's and kept mint in the garage since then, pretty much). This year she surprised me for my 26th birthday by presenting me with a small box containing the keys to the car I've wanted my entire life. Needless to say, I bawled my eyes out. I'm not ashamed to admit that, considering how much this car has meant to me, and still means to me.

I had a 65' K code non-GT. Same color as this but a black int. Was lots of fun and i sold it to a friend years ago and he still has it. He's passing it off to his grandson. Thanks Kevin for this video...brings back a lot of good memories, especially when the garage called and said they drove it into the pit and took out the wheel alignment machine. I could tell you storys about the time it was stolen,etc,etc....

I had a 1965 Mustang with a re-manufactured 289ci V8 and a Holley 4-barrel carb I added that ran 15:50s with an automatic transmission. I also later owned a 1983 5.0L Mustang GT Hatchback that ran a good deal faster, and had many more luxuries. I loved them both, but I think back more fondly on the 65.

at 2600 lbs its not as bad as it seem...drum actually have braking power, the problem is the cooling, if you stop and go hard non stop thats when the huge fade kick in

right, drum brakes have plenty of brake torque, they simply can't transfer the heat away when stopping repeatedly from higher speeds.

Then install a dual exhaust with glass packs . Then turn the air filter lid up side down to get that Steve McQueen sound.. &then when she was finished i would ppull up to my pals grave &spark up a dubie even thow i havnt smoked it in years wile blasting out favorite rock . . We all half to have our dreams ! Truth is i cant aford a mustang .

We have a 65, its a major project we haven't started yet. Uncle Charles bought off the lot- drove it for years. My husband's father traded an old Monark car & $2500.00 (19yrs old) My mother in law drove it til it died. It has sat ever since. My husband an I are now in our mid 50's... We traded a cool jeep for two parked mustang projects; the 67 is as far as we can take it... Runs & fun 😎 The 65 is white automatic... We can't do anything more... Any ideas?

A cool fact about mustangs is that even though they have a horse logo. they were'nt named after ferrel horses. they were named after the p 51 mustang fighter plane of ww2. I gues ford just thought a horse would sell better than a plane for a badge.

Not everyone is a stoplight racer, as you seem to think. some people prefer to run the roads or surprise someone on the highway. i for one would much rather have highway gears....likewise imdont understand your fascination with massive burnouts in cars that were clearly designed more for the open road or the scca course than the 1/4 mile.

I am a 1st generation mustang fanatic (yes, despite my profile picture) but there’s no way I would have optioned this car that way. It’s like the original buyer was a total cheap skate and wanted the best engine but none of the other options that make these cars cool. No pony interior, no a/c, no styled steel wheels, no rocker trim, no fog lights, etc. even the color choice is suspect. If you’re going to cheap out, at least get raven black.

i know that the new mustang have 450+ hp and all and all... but to me they are bloated overpriced heavy, huge garbage ...what we truly want is smaller cheaper true pony car like those i dont mind if they offer those bloated overpriced marvel to people that want that, the problem is that today thats the only choice. 0-60 in 5.5 to 7 second can be enough if the car feel fun...
