If noticed the knave in the Pakistan planning to get Kashmir is Bhutto, an over ambitious politician and an arrogant one at that. My late father (God rest his soul) was in the artillery and he would speak in one of his rare moods, of his regiment shelling Dograi and of its capture . We were stationed at a place called Kapurthala and he went into battle from there, I was then 7 years old. I do remember some of the troop movement.

Not accepting failure is the biggest mistake someone can make. India after lost in 1962 did major reforms after accepting the loss. So India's best Commanders were Brits again; Both Countries problems are that they are more afraid of their Armies grabbing power (in the Case of Pakistan it was common) That the troops were good and well trained but way under supplied; The Indian Air Force ran out of Fuel and Munitions for a time and what they had they held back; Unlike 71 this was suppose to be a limited war with a uprising when that didnt happen it was not worth keeping going; But like Israel India Learned and correct many of their problems; Good site and lot of real Good info this war gets ignored because of the Middle East and Vietnam and the Cold War But this could have led right to WW3 real easy and now they both have Nukes and high tech weapons and Navies; Glad they have used Diplomacy since;

You don't mention the results and losses of Indian side in battle of chwinda where india lost the 120+ tanks and Pakistan lost 45 tanks. Also you mention no roles of air force and navy of both nations, it's incomplete analysis of 1965 war or probably you don't have much to praise for indian side. 👍👍
@IndianMilitaryHistory
@IndianMilitaryHistory Жыл бұрын
It's definitely an overview of the 65 war - doesn't go into the details of every battle. Just the ones that were crucial and had a major impact on the war. It's definitely not one sided, you'll find I have covered the Rann of Kutch battles as well. In the battle of Chawinda and Phillora, the results of losses on the two sides were nothing out of the ordinary. In any battle the assaulting side will have more casualties compared to the defending side. The numbers reflect that there. But the battle of Khem Karan and Asal Uttar, the Pak Patton tank losses were so gigantic that they had to be mentioned to provide the correct context of the battle result. I hope this answers your question and you're able to see the overall war from a more objective lens and not through the lens of your nationalism.

@IndianMilitaryHistory
@IndianMilitaryHistory Жыл бұрын
Watch part 1, it gives you more context. 1965 the power differential between India and Pakistan wasn't as much. Pakistan had military arrangements with the West - the US - who supplied them with the latest armor and air assets. This was the primary reason Ayub initiated this campaign in 1965. India was still recovering from it's defeat against China in 62.
@Warlock786

@Indian Military History makes sense. But brother don't you think there are pictures where Pakistan took Indian territory as well, though India took more. Also India never got to Lahore yet you have put up a picture of Indian soldiers standing in front of some signboard that says Lahore ? Just an observation brother.
@nishantmaderna6295
@nishantmaderna6295 Жыл бұрын
@@Warlock786 it's not a fake pic. It's real. And at that time, Pakistan was a major ally for Pakistan in cold war against india . So a lot of money and weapons came from USA and its allies to Pakistan. Read history of ur own country.

@@Warlock786 I am not sure what you are arguing about . Just checked google map . Barki is 24 km from Lahore . If Barkee and Barki are the same then it’s consistent with what @Indian Military said . India indeed performed poorly against Pakistan because India was under severe distress, no food , lost war with China , not industrialised . Neither was Pakistan but since was under martial law and not answerable to anyone they bought latest arms and attacked india . The consequences of that behaviour is the reason economic state of Pakistan. A country which fights wars with neighbours will always fail. Even China after Mao never fought any war , it threats but does not launch full scale war . Pakistan on the other hand had consistently interfered in its neighbours . Today you see India , Iran won’t come for help , Afghanistan cannot help, China left you high and dry and don’t even talk about usa

So the war was initiated by Pakistan, so the onus for achieving the objective was that side. India's objective was to thwart that effort. India succeeded in that goal. No doubt the Pakistan side fought bravely just like the Indian side, but strategically the fact remains that Pakistan made a conscious choice of initiating after the perception of the Indian military being weak at the time. And its plans were blocked by India.
