It is nice to feel that sense of accomplishment and actually finish a project which can be so hard on these builds that sometimes go one for years and even decades. @@luzgarcia9499 That is so hard to say. I think there was about 7K in parts alone for the Malibu and I had a lot of hours of work into the car. Since he is a friend he got a huge break on labor. Finding someone you can trust is the hardest part. I have seen so many hack jobs that cost 50K in labor it isn't funny. Most reputable shops will have clearly stated labor rates and will charge by the hour and most importantly have references from former customers. There still needs to be an estimate but you need to know exactly what you want done, show truck or driver. NEVER tell them how much money you want to spend or what your budget is because they will magically come in just under your number most of the time. I don't know anyone in your neck of the woods so ask around at car shows who painted their car/truck and check the quality of the work and ask them if they are happy. 99% of body shops do not want to take on these projects as they make way more money and faster money on insurance work, mostly bumpers and collision work.

Sorry about that Ed. I didn't build the motor so I forgot to mention what it is. GM 350 Crate Engine, 385hp with Fast Burn Aluminum Heads is all I know about it. Didn't have much time on it from what I understand.
