Mom mom had one!! We loved the breezeway back window! 💕 She drove that car like a bat out of hell, in the New Jersey countryside!!

Oh my. My father had this same year/model/color Merc back in the 70s. He always kept one or two "beaters" around because, altho I was too young to drive at that time, I had five older siblings who did drive. In the end, he sold it for scrap, because it would cost more $$ to fix it up than it was worth then. Now it's a collective! I always loved the breezeway window--a great idea!

We that car once. Road like a dream and that rear sliding window was the best invention Ford ever had. 😀 Ours did not have A.C. but in the summer we slid that rear window down, opened all the vents, and we could still cruise in relative comfort with the side windows rolled up. This kept the wind noise out of the interior.

My Mom's Uncle had a Blue One that was a Straight Gear 3 speed manual transmission on the Steering Column. It was just about the Same Color Blue as the One on Your Video.

Nothing says classic Mercury like the Winged Messenger at the center of the steering column.

Friends had the Commuter wagon in this color blue, we had a 65 Impala wagon. I thought the Merc was nicer, it was loaded with all the accessories like power windows and seats, but both cars had factory AC as we lived in Florida

Nice car

Its iconic because its so bizarre / brutish - totally opposite lines / themes to GM and Chevrolet in 1965 - its as if the only design brief was to make it as uncomplicated to mass produce as possible

I had one but I thought it was a Monterey? Anyway I had the same color and no ac, And my window worked, they’re prone to body rust around the rear wheel, didn’t have it that long before I went into the army, really miss that car

The Monterey was the entry level full-sized model of the Mercury lineup. Montclair was middle and Park Lane was upper-level full sized. Each one of those came in 2 door, 4 door hardtop, and 4 door breezeway varieties. (They are all the same vehicle just different levels of luxury and options.)

I don't think it had Air Conditioning either.

After market AC wasn't the greatest. Factory air was the best.
