My grandfather sacrificed in 1966, he fought for south vietnam government, and I am proud of him.

Thank you Paul for these wonderful pictures, they really bring back memories, both good and bad, I went to Signal OCS at Fort Gordon, August 66 thru Feb 67, then went to 2nd Armored Division at Ft. Hood for a year and arrived in beautiful Nha Trang 2 weeks before Tet in 1968. The NVA attacked with a regiment and 500 people were killed before they were driven out of town a few days later. I was with the 459th and ran Nha Trang LD for a couple of months, most boring job imaginable. In August I was sent to B Co. in Ninh Hoa with the ROKS, I ran the company supply convoy which was a beautiful ride in the sun on QL 1 up the coast. You guys did all the hard work before we got there, if sandbags needed filling we hired Viets. Hard to believe it was half a century ago. Old Nha Trang is gone, it's all high-rise resort hotels and I have heard that North Nha Trang is full of Russians with Cyrillic signs in shop windows, I would like to go back before it's too late. My first 35mm camera, a Pentax Spotmatic purchased at the PX. I have taken many thousand of photos since 1966. Currently using my Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra phone, with 7 lenses! Cheers! Paul
