I'm a Mopar guy first but the 66-67 R-Code 427 Fairlane's are my favorite Ford's ever made...particularly the 67. I believe that all the 66 Fairlane 427's were factory lightweight drag cars with no heater or radio. The 427 didn't become a regular production Fairlane option until 67. Also love the 427 Galaxie's...especially the 65-67 because starting mid year 1965 they came with the Medium Riser 427 Side Oiler instead of the Low Riser 427 Center Oiler that the 63-64 Galaxie's had. The 65 R-Code 427 Galaxie is definitely my favorite of the full size 427 Ford's. Actually a plush 65 LTD with the factory R-Code 427 and a 4 speed would be even cooler than a regular Galaxie or Galaxie 500 XL with the 427 and definitely more rare. I believe that three 427 LTD's were built and even one 4 door Galaxie 427 was built in 65. Also some bare bones stripper full size Custom and Custom 500's equipped with the 427 were sold in 65...most likely to drag racers

Awesome build. We have a convertible 289 car that’s been sitting in my grandparents garage since 1980. I’m looking into trying to get it started and maybe even get it road worthy again. Just about everything’s probably bad from sitting for so long, but it would be fun. I’m only 19 so I have a lot more motivation than skill when it comes to this stuff

Willy Rohr it’s all about your approach my dude, you learn as you go. I learned everything off of a Chevy small block. Just take your time and don’t rush it. Best of luck!

Willy Rohr that’s the hardest thing on them is sitting, same with bikes. I restore them so I’ve seen some sad neglect cases

Willy Rohr buddy if you have the motivation, the skill will come, find some junk motors and take them apart, read some repair manuals, you’ll be spinning wrenches with the best of em before you know it

Juan Mireles - I bought my’66 GTA Fairlane convertible in 1980 for $125.00 and I still have her❗️ Take your time, get a shop manual, get the correct tools to work on it, and- like another poster here said, “take your time and learn”. Enjoy 😉

Kudos to you for building such a nice car from a shell basically. Lots of hard work, time and $$. I assume your engine is a small block stroker 427 and not the FE block?

Did I see the vid correctly.The project started out as a Cleveland, the motor grenaded and ended up with a Windsor?.
@rondyechannel13994 жыл бұрын
Hmmm, saw the start of the motor build, and it was a Clevo, then when painted it showed a Windsor.

Anyone think he should let some air out of the rear tiers so he can hook up better?
