A lot of people hate this because it's a Chevy motor in a Ford. I think about it like this, car guys love the fact that there was something genius in each and every muscle car that came out of Detroit, and if you love cars you get that feeling. If you love blending the best of your muscle car genius, it makes you smile from ear to ear, and your hard earned money went where it was best spent. Great build! Beautiful!

Excellent job love the color love the wide-body rather than the fender flares love the LS of course the one thing LS has over the coyote is simplicity. They're Bulletproof dual overhead cams way more can go wrong when you have a 4 foot long timing chain.

Good job, the only thing I do not agree with is placing a Chevrolet engine in a Ford. Ford has more sophisticated and powerful engines, which would make the difference.

I'm a Mustang lover that has built two nice Mustang at this point in my 74 years of life. I am also a mid year Corvette lover and just finished a 63 Corvette Roadster with an early LS1 Chevy engine. Although I love the early Mustang as much as I do the early Corvettes there is no way in hell that Ford has a street engine that will even come close to GM LS engines. This guys Mustang is without a doubt the best early Mustang project I have ever seen on KZbin or in person. Going with the LS engine was as good as the rest of the incredible job this guy did on this car. He needs to give himself a big pat on the back.

I'm bummed about the LS engine swap to Chevy though one big argument the LS has to stand on over a ford coyote (modular) engine would be LS engine still uses push rod valve train technology making it a smaller package for about same HP as coyote engine, those DOHC cam coyote modular engines are huge in size compared to an LS engine.

$5k r u serious, I'm starting to think my mechanic might be ripping me off
@psiewert835 жыл бұрын
The rusted out shell of a fastback was purchased for $5000 probably. This restoration would cost over $20,000 even if you did it 100% yourself.
@captpatrick8914 жыл бұрын
@@psiewert83 that chassis would be around $15k, but considering he did all the work himself I'm going to say it cost around $1500 in materials, all it takes is skill.

@ParkerBuhrman6 жыл бұрын
I've read the build-up thread on this car before.. it's true. Don't remember the exact details but the wheels were traded for (a wine cooler maybe) and the LS was super cheap. (blew up after not too long I believe). The paint was done by the owner in his own garage, with a harbor freight sprayer. The man really built this thing on an extremely tight budget and made an amazing machine.

$5,000 my ass..... just the metal for the frame, body panels, and roll cage would costs you over $2000. Even if that engine was used and rebuilt from a horrible condition you'd be $2000 in for that. New wheels and tires over $1000. That's just the tip of the restoration iceberg.
