My dad had one when I was a kid. What a beast. First truck I ever drove. Had a scout my brother gave me after high school, lived in it one summer. Wish I still had it. Lots of fun.

I've been giving some thought about converting the IH to a more user-friendly vehicle. Some of that old technology just isn't up to par anymore.

Nice truck. my dad had a 66 1200a 4x4.Learned to drive doing just what you were doing. Crawling through the woods gathering firewood.Thanks for posting.

Thanks. Yeah, it's good at that. Has duals on it now, too.

I love the fact that you use the truck as it was built for. Im looking for a late 60's Travelall for camping

Just bought my first classic at 16, it's 1966 international travelette with the bg-265 and 4 on the floor with 4x4. Retired military too. You have a gorgeous truck though!
@glenwunderlich24386 жыл бұрын
Cool! The truck is a user and it's good at tractor-type chores.

Same truck now but I've added dual rear wheels and a custom steel brush/deer guard. I'll have to do another video to show it.

Thanks. It's as much a tractor as truck.

I want a classic international pickup as my first vehicle. Any thoughts on an international pickup, that I could find for 10 grand and under? 1960s-70s? Or maybe something like a scout?
@glenwunderlich24384 жыл бұрын
Ebay Motors usually has a fair amount of them for sale. If nothing else, you should be able to learn relative values.
@glenwunderlich24384 жыл бұрын
There is also an International forum where vehicles are for sale. A good place to learn about them, too.

We had a fire truck just like this. You better hang on to that steering wheel.

What the top speed or cruising speed on one of these old one tons with the original drive train??
@glenwunderlich24384 жыл бұрын
Trouble with mine is the speedo is not calibrated properly, but I'd estimate top speed of my truck at 60 mph or a bit more. Gear ratio is more designed for low-speed torque.

I have a 66 with 13,000 miles , no rust. Do you think $5,500 was a good deal
@glenwunderlich24384 ай бұрын
Sounds fair in today's market. Can't get much these days for that money. Have some fun with it and put it to work and don't look back.

Do you know what the axle ratios this truck has?
@glenwunderlich24383 жыл бұрын
Not offhand.
@brianpencall48823 жыл бұрын
@@glenwunderlich2438 The 130/1300/1310 series one ton 4x4 trucks had 2 ratios where the RA15 (Timken F35) rear axle matched the FA52 (Dana 70) front axle. Those were 6.17, and 4.88. If your truck is VERY slow, you have the 6.17 ratios.
@mtyemti2 жыл бұрын
What's your axle ratio?
@glenwunderlich24382 жыл бұрын
Don't know.
@glenwunderlich24382 жыл бұрын
Take a look at the post above from Brian Pencall. I'd guess mine is the 4.88 version ratio.

It's either a 1966 with a 1965 grill or it's a 1965 if the grill is original to the truck. Title may read "1966" if it is a 1965 sold in 1966.
@glenwunderlich24386 жыл бұрын
It's a 66.
@47485ksc6 жыл бұрын
What about the 1965 grill? have you replaced the '66 grill with a '65? What's the "BG" stand for?
@glenwunderlich24386 жыл бұрын
That grill was on it when I bought it. Don't know what BG stands for, but that's what it is.
@glenwunderlich24386 жыл бұрын
Looks like the same grill that's on other '66 Internationals on KZbin.
@glenwunderlich24386 жыл бұрын
Just looked at some '65 Internationals on KZbin and looks like you are mistaken.
