Very encouraging video. I am not a weelder, but I'm planning to wreld in floors and rockers on my 1950 Plymouth. I was so happy when I realized that most of my body work will be plug/tac welds. Now the thought of welding doesn't seem so overwhelming.

I’m not much of a welder either so I would recommend finding some old rust free sheet metal and practice on those before beginning. The key is to make sure the area to be welded is clean and fit tightly to each other.

Nice! Keep up that great work. I have a Mustang as rusty and its a long haul patching them together. Seeing this gives me hope. Look forward to future videos and thanks for posting.

Yes Nick, it’s a very long haul getting everything fixed. Seems like every time I cut into an area I just find more rust. 😂 But I keep plugging away at it.

I very much like your relaxed style. No showmanship, no fancy talk and we are free to decide for ourselves if you are good at what you do. If I may make one comment, @17:59, I'm slightly unsure about the weld on the bottom edge of your joint.

I probably should grind that weld down and go over it again with a 6013 rod instead of the flux core wire.

I will be replacing the right frame rail on my 69 Mach 1 in a few weeks, thanks for the video!

Make sure you take plenty of measurements and pictures as well. When measuring be sure to Mark your reference point for the measurements.

I purchased several years ago from www.milamar.com/home-improvement/ it’s the Super Coat product line. When I was a epoxy flooring contractor it’s all I used.

Nice job on the bathroom! I've been wondering how the car was coming along.

@Master of None, I’m slowly moving forward on the Mustang, how’s your project coming along?
@masterofnonetv83614 жыл бұрын
@@dubsgarage coming along pretty good! I got the drivers side quarter panel welded on and I'm about to start the passenger side. I also scored a brand new aluminum 3 row radiator for a song off craigslist. I'm hoping to be on to the floor maybe next week.

That piece you put in… did you make that yourself? How were you able to make such a comparable replacement piece?

I purchased the frame rail pieces from CJ Pony parts.

What did you use over the Ospho inside the frame rail? I like that idea but not sure what would adhere best to it.
@dubsgarage3 жыл бұрын
Joe Bob, I used Rustoleum primer for inside the frame. I also taped off the edge where the welds would be and used weld thru primer there. I also used self etching primer on the new outer frame rail. I lost the video clip of that part, my apologies for that! Thanks for watching!

how much would this exact job cost?

The parts were around $100. The time to do it is what will set you back.
