THE DOORS!!!!! MAN I FUCKING LOVE THESE GUYS, WHAT A LEGENDARY BAND
@theChain120

This particular instrument pretty much defines the sound of that legendary rock band from Venice. Robby and John were also important, and Jims lyrics as well, no question. But, whenever you hear THIS particular organ sound, you instantly know it's the Doors.

"one for yourself" - well, why not! Nord incorporated very convincing Vox emulator into their C2D organ. Beside, it has incredible Hammond , pipe and Farfisa. Believe me - it's like time machine... You press the button and magically you are taken back 50 years. Or two hundred....!

Aww! That organ is a beauty! It made me sad to know that the organ was literally beating up by the UPS shipping guy and had to be repaired, but on the flip side it sounds absolutely gorgeous especially on the vibrato setting.

Your playing was well beyond anything I can put out. But it did made me realize how unforgiving this instrument actually is. And it definitely made me respect the sound and groove the late Ray Manzarek got out of this machine.

Playing and owning both a Vox Continental and Farfisa Combo Compact organs during the mid to later 60’s was something else back in the day. Through today in my early 70’s I still own 2 Vox Continentals in very good shape. One is a single keyboard and the other a “Super Continental” as they called them that is a Double Keyboard Organ. They are Antiques today for sure and I haven’t thought of ever selling them.

Only say this for a few reasons and that being that i once saw a video of them on American Bandstand and his Vox had the two cross braces over each other. Also I've seen some live photos of his Vix close up and see two holes where the wing nuts or bolts go. Hope this helps, I love that band and try to learn as much research as I can on them.

@austin_hutto
@austin_hutto 6 жыл бұрын
luckily there were no broken contacts, but a couple tonecards and the preamp were screwed up, it also doesn't help that the preamp was directly behind the drawbars where the moving drawbars could come in contact with the wiring. One of the weirdest designs ive ever seen, luckily they changed it in later models.

Richard Demartino my friend bought the organ for me in California , he paid ups to package it and ship it , it was packaged with bubble wrap and packing peanuts, so any damage was their responsibility , also it was shipped ups ground so it’s my assumption that in transit it was thrown around because when I got it , their were stabs in the box where a corner edges dented marks in the box

I have a 1968 Vox Continental Made in Italy version. Mine sounds a whole lot brighter than yours.. to a point where its ear piercing. @austin_hutto
@austin_hutto 4 жыл бұрын
The OM Network that’s just how the 301E sounds. the tone cards are a bit different from the others. the only thing that really stands out to me is that the sound , sounds more clicky and bright than the rest. it’s cool because each era and model of the organ has a different and distinct sound. Like 301j is very British Invasion because a lot of groups at that time played that model, 301H is played by American groups as it was manufactured in California , then the 301E was also being played in American as well because they stopped producing the 301h , and the 301e became more produced
