In 1967, Hanna-Barbera produced a Fantastic Four cartoon that adapted many stories directly from the original Lee & Kirby run. Great show that deserves to be on DVD.

The Fantastic Four, united in their fight against interplanetary evil! The Fantastic Four... fantastic!_

@@Tomsonic41 Same thing with The Gary Coleman Show (1982)... the original 1982-83 NBC run had Casey Kasem narrating the show's premise during the intro. Cartoon Network airs the show without that voiceover. Casey Kasem said during the intro for that series... "Meet Andy LeBeau: brand new apprentice guardian angel. It's his job to watch over a very special gang of kids. And that's Angelica. It's her job to watch over Andy and make sure he doesn't goof up. Of course, none of Andy's good friends doubt if they'll know that he's really an angel. They just think he's one of the gang. And this is Hornswoggle. True! Just before that FF cartoon was developed, Universal Pictures had optioned the rights to Spiderman, Hulk, Doctor Strange, Submariner, and Human Torch for TV pilots. Submariner never launched because of "The Man From Atlantis." Human Torch was never filmed because the studio would have had to animate the flames! Too "hokey" for the time. The rights to the Torch character were all tied up at the time, that's why we got that lame ass H.E.R.B.I.E. in the animated series!

Disney has nothing to do with this series nor the Fred and Barney Meets The Thing series (aside from the characters) Far as tv and home video goes, WB handles it. When Disney bought Saban, then later Marvel the Hanna Barbera shows that featured Marvel characters wasn't included far as I know it. Yet I suspect that the reason why WB hasn't release it was in case Disney would ask for a royalty fee for the Marvel characters.
