In Canada, the Impala was also called a Pontiac Parisienne, with Chevy motors and wasn't a wide tracking Catalina or Bonneville.

I love the Jenga structure under the Impala to shore it up. It brings back memories of my brother-in-law and I rescuing a ‘65 Wildcat out of a local junkyard. It’s no fun without a little danger. 😉

You've got the right attitude for the amount of the work ahead of you, it can be very satisfying to bring a car back that was left for dead, all in all you've got to have the passion to do what you do😮

If this would have had a black vinyl top, I don't think I could have resisted a correct stock restoration to the trim tag. I'm a rigid "100% original" guy except in the case of movie cars. The reality of this one is that it will bring the most, and get the most interest, black with tan interior and chrome sawblade rims

I love that body style of the 67 and 68 Chevy Full Sized cars! I owned a 68, my grandmother bought new. It's now in Germany, I miss it but glad I know where it is. The four door hardtop style is so attractive on this Chevy!!! Nice find!!!

Well said. Sometimes I might go too far, but the market values, against the condition and availability of replacement parts, determine what's "worth it" or not to bring back. This is the 5th one of these I've been fortunate to find, so I have a checklist of what to look for on them

Good point about tapping stuck parts while they soak. I like the Kanolabs Aero Kroil, expensive but worth it. Only recent failure was a couple of frozen brake bolts I had to drill out on the late 30s Plymouth axle I have on my most recent build. Most of the time it works miracles. Excellent video, my brother has a 68 Impala SS 427, rare with fewer than 1900 built

I never started wit ha car that rough. But as I am a Chevy fullsize guy and a four door man, (I have a big family), I am always so happy to see one of those cars being rescued. I hope this one will be drivable again one day. But the amount of work and money necessary to make this happen, is not for the faint of heart. It was clever to put a weight on the rat trap. Those beasts can get crazy once they are trapped. Once I could not find a similar trap anymore. It was a bit smaller than yours. The rat succeeded to move itself and the trap for two yards. They ended up in an open bag and the beast ate huge holes into it while being inside the trap. My cellar was infested by those monsters. I shot some, poisened some. The worst was when they died and started decaying. My neighbours cat was kind enough to chase one out. At the end I had to brick an opening that was actually meant to let water drain. That seemed to solve the rat problem. Those beasts ate candles when they could not find anything to eat. They seem as tough as a classic Chevy.

22:42..Wow..is that a '58 Skyliner retractable?...and, I always find it amazing, how few Edsels were built, and the number of survivors that are commonly quoted as existing..yet, it seems that in practically all of these old collections, salvage yards, anywhere there are old abandoned cars, there always seem to be Edsels...multiple ones, very often...

This particular 4 door hardtop model has a cult following because of the TV show Supernatural. If it were a two door, or one year newer, or a year older, it would have been a $750 parts car in this condition. But, because of what it is, there is a standing list of buyers waiting to restore every one that's turned up. Believe it or not, there's a dedicated restoration shop in the D/FW area of north Texas that focuses on these cars

A 1967 four door hardtop is a very desirable collector vehicle because it was the hero car in the TV show Supernatural. It first aired in 2005. By that time, most 4 door cars had been scrapped at the end of their useful lives, or parted out to restore two doors. The show ran for an amazing 15 years, and attracted a cult following, drying up the supply of restorable 4 door hardtops. Every restorable example that is located now brings a premium over 2 door 1967s, and 1966- earlier Impalas and 1968-later Impalas.

@mr.goodpliers6988
@mr.goodpliers6988 8 ай бұрын
I figured that out after removing them. They got stuck on the shelf for the next car. It actually turned out that I was able to free up the existing steering parts and get everything working, which was a surprise considering that they laid buried for so long. They will still need to be replaced with new parts, but the objective here was to be able to move the car around the lot and load it for transport
