Did you know about the sequential turn signals? Such a nice touch. I think Mercury lifted those from the then-current T-birds. Great review.

There was a clip about the taillights, unfortunately there was too much background noise from the surrounding people at the park so it got cut.

I had a 68 cougar with a 302 and a 3 speed manual. It's how I learned to drive a stick. I was a blast, but not enough power.

The '67 Cougar, as were the '55 - '57 T-Birds, were the best designs of each of the respective models of these cars. Unfortunately, Ford designers couldn't resist creating 4-wheeled bathtubs after designing those beautiful sports cars. Lean and mean, then straight to lead sleds. What were Ford executives thinking... they clearly were not thinking until they decided to market the Mustang. GM didn't make the same design mistakes with the Corvette. I will not, however, forgive GM executives for failing to run with the of prototype of John DeLorean's Pontiac Viper, the forerunner of the Stingray. I'm only slightly mollified by the GTOs and the Firebirds. As always, profits trumped fine art.
