The jack stands should be placed under the frame rails near the front leaf bolts not under axle. You can keep the jack under the rear end to support it while you unbolt the leafs. The way you are doing it is very dangerous because leaf’s are under compression. If the frame is supported the leafs will come off much easier. You unbolt the shock and u-bolts first then the rear shackles and the front bolt last.
