Your Fury III is a "383"! I had a '67 Fury II (VERY PLAIN, but VERY PLEASANT OLD 4 Dr. SEDAN! Mine was a "318-A motor", mostly NO options, but I LOVED THIS CAR! I bought it on August 26th, 1976 for $125!

always pump the gas first on the old cars ... Great ride.

Throw a filter in before the pump. probably gonna be lots of crap in the tank, protect the new pump. Also, set/adjust your choke. Plate should be almost touching when cold, wide open when hot. Smoke will clear up with some running/heat cycles. Nice work.

That's a 1968 Fury. That carb piece is a choke spring. Had same issue on my 68.

Some believe it's best to warm engine up if possible before dumping the oil so you can get all the particles out. Probably nothing matters either way but just a thought.

Don't rev it up, give the lifters time to pump up, use some non-ethanal fuel and some lead substitute, because more than likely it doesn't have harden exhaust valve seats

The brass float for the fuel guage sender could have a hole in it. The float assembly is not too hard to remove. You can check the gauge by grounding the wire to the body. . Is the engine a 383?

Sender works now, it was corroded.
