The 67 Firebird was the first car I owned. It was a 3 on the tree with factory air shocks 2bbl carb. It didn’t have a tach so I shifted by ear. 35 in first and 55 in second. I ran wide radials and I loved it but I sold it after enlisted in the navy. The only regret I have.

2 speed automatic. Bullet proof super turbine 300. I have an all original 326 with that transmission. It's a pleasure to drive around town. It has many options, custom interior, vinyl top. Rear window defogger, floor mount clock, rally 2 wheels, special lighting package, space saver spare, cruise control. It's not in the shape this one is, paint wise. It is a nice daily driver. I love the compliments the " car " gets. It's mariner turquoise. Match in interior color. Am/ FM radio factory installed. Rear antenna . I love the profile of it. Good luck. Be proud of it. It's a great example.

@@What.its.like. I'm not surprised? They are finally gaining the respect they deserved. Remember it was a half year model. It sold over 80,000 units. Camaro out sold, I believe 5 times over. Point being, anyone can have a Camaro, but us Pontiac people go through a much more painful search for parts. Good luck, if you come across anything 67 68 related, kindly let me know. George. P.S. I also built a 400 with a M22 . Block original, however a found the a set of 997 heads true Ram air one. Although not on paper original it means a lot to me . I've owned both birds for 30 plus years. They are an integral part of my life.

Hey George, I also have a 67 Firebird with the original 326 which my father helped me find in 1979. It didn't come with many options, but I did find an original cruise control for it a few years ago. It is complete except for a mounting bracket for the inner fender. Would you mind sending me pictures of your cruise control bracket?

Nice tribute too your Dad. Know he's looking down and saying well done son. I grew up with all these cars and they all bring back memories. My best friend had a 67' or 68' Firebird when they came out. My 1st new car was a 76 Cougar XR7. To commemorate these cars and times, I ordered 6 months ago, a vivid orange metallic 2 SS Camaro and just came back from a ride in her.😊

Thanks for the video, and that was a great tribute to your father. Really makes me appreciate that both of my parents are still with me. Getting old has some perks, but it's hard having to say goodbye. In terms of stories of vehicles my parents had back in the day that I unfortunately never got to experience- my mother's first car was a candy apple red 70 or 71 Mercury Montego. Absolutely gorgeous car that we have a few pictures of. She didn't have it long before eventually trading it for a bus ticket to the other side of the country. Another early car she owned was a Boattail Riviera that was part of a crazy story involving hitchhiking (it was the 70s after all). As far as my father, he had a Pinto when he met my mother. He'd installed a Mercury Bobcat grill on it and had some Mag wheels. Unfortunately we don't have any pictures of it (or the Riviera), but there are a lot of stories from when my parents were first dating. I'll always appreciate the ways cars can bridge the generation gap, much like music, old film and movies, etc. I love going with my parents to car shows, even if we all have slightly different tastes in what our favorites are! Thanks again. It's easy to take things for granted, it really is important to let people know what they mean to you.

Thanks for Spotlighting the 67 Firebird. The center console was an option. Console was an option on the Camaro as well and could be optioned with extra gauges. The trunk on the Firebird and Camaro is very small. The car in your video didn't have a spare tire in it so it looked roomier. but the cars came with a space saving spare when new, so it didn't take up too much room.

The featured car is my absolute favorite color for the first generation Firebird. My family was on a toll road in Chicago and one in exactly that perfect shade of blue was next to us at the toll plaza. Inside were a couple of blonde and tanned teenagers, handsome and laughing as they threw coins into the bin. My fondest dream was to somehow miraculously outgrow my nerdiness and be that cool someday. Never forgot that moment. Still waiting to be that guy. No matter how long you've been someone's child, when a parent passes, they've gone too soon. I'm sorry you lost your dad so early in your life, but thanks for sharing him with us in this post. Through the late 70's, early '80's I had a '67 Firebird here in the UK that was very much like your dads, same motor and trans. I kept it for nine years and loved it. The 2 speed auto wasn't a Powerglide but a GM Super Turbine 300, actually not so super. I believe the door window sill trims were actually metal, they were damn cold in winter anyway. That trunk may seem ok, but mine had a full size spare in there, there was no way a full size suitcase was going to fit. Vacation luggage had to be bagged. Enjoyed your taking me back in time, though it made me miss the thing even more. Thanks for posting.

It’s nice that you honor your dad and share that with us. Most families have some friction and differences, but it helps us learn we are all different individuals but need each other to make life better. Life isn’t fair. Life is cruel. Each generation lives in the shadow and stands on the shoulders of the previous generation. Never miss a chance to be kind. The “Golden Rule” is very intelligent advice; treat others as you wish they would treat you. Even though your dad has passed, talk to him and he will hear you and someday you will realize you feel his presence. Now, back to the video. Contact the closest Firebird owners group and talk to them for information. I suggest you do that for all of your videos. The SOHC 6 was a big deal and a project pushed by John Z. DeLorean when he was General Manager at Pontiac. Who was Pontiac? Look it up. Go find an old glass Coke bottle. The 5 Firebird models were kind of European. Keep up the good work

I was disappointed by the period firebird ads. Dark and grainy usually can find options and info in the ads I asked if the consule was option because I’ve never saw a firebird without one.. but to be fair firebird is the hardest to find out of the 3 of them and a toss up between it and the cougar
