This video must have meant to oversell Tehran for some reason back then given too much street decorations portrayed in it. With about 70% of the population living in rural areas barely even accessing purified water and electricity, one can't be sure how far this could represent the whole "country" in 1960s.

@Mojtaba Parsa Please ask British Pathé if they wanted to oversell anything. I only remastered one of their footage. I think you read too much into this video.

Iranians did not. Jimmy Carter & Co did. All these terrorists who now rule Iran, many of whom are dead now, were in jail convicted of terrorists acts against the Iranians and the US personnel in Iran, until Mr carter and his ' human righst ' agenda arived and forced Iranians to free them. We have witnessed the result of that folly for the past 44 years.

The better choice? The Shah who was placed in power by the British and the CIA after overthrowing Mosaddegh in the coup of 1953 was a stooge taking orders from the US, Britain and Israel. Iran under the Shah, was not even able to keep an accounting of its sale of petroleum. The Shah could do nothing of significance in world affairs, without first asking his handlers for permission.

It is inconceivable that a country and her people who were the staunchest ally of the west, in particular the US, should be made to pay such a heavy price because of the price of oil and the stupidity of one US president who fell in the British trap. We won't forget.

Iran after world war 2 expanded like crazy in just a couple of decades we went from a poor nation that was basiclly controlled by the ottoman empire to a nation that had the 5 largest military in the world and free healthcare and living standards and freedom similar to that of European nations.

Who was ruled by the Ottoman Empire? Ottoman Empire disintegrated in 1918 at the end of the first world war, and the modern state Turkey did not come to existance untill 1922. The 2nd world war started in Sept 1939 in Europe and Jpan attacked Pearl Harbour in 1941 when US joined the British. We did not have the 5th largest military in the world. This was manily the propaganda that the lefists and the communists used to criticise the Shah,. It was a bad example of misinformation, and unfortunatley it stuck.@@80xdplays88

Doesn't look very advanced to me. Mind you, this is Tehran in 1973, the most "advanced" city of Iran at the time. If you were to go to less developed cities in Iran in 1973 you would have seen abject poverty.
