I literally cried while watching this video. This has been my dream car since I was a little boy. So close. Yet so far away. I'll never be able to own her. As I've had to sacrifice my life and finances to raising three grandchildren. Greatest car ever built in my eyes.

Man what a beauty. Im a Ford/Mopar guy but I love the first gen Camaros. Especially the 67-69 Z28 with the screamer 302 small block. They were bad machines for such a small displacement V8 and they had one of the best sounds of the muscle car era with that chambered exhaust system. But my all time favorite Camaro ever is definitely the 69 ZL1 COPO. Probably the baddest muscle car Chevy ever built during that era. Even badder than the 70 LS6 454 Chevelle SS...at least in my opinion. Unfortunately only 69 ZL1 Camaros were built in 1969. And 3 Corvettes escaped the factory with the All Aluminum ZL1 427/430hp factory rated engine. That engine was 427 cubes but weighed the same as a Chevy 327 small block and was probably making nearly 500 horsepower or maybe more

Cool car but why would you need to restore a car that had 10,000+ miles? I can see replacing some of the rubber items and such but, unless it was beat to hell for the two years the woman owned it, they probably could have carefully cleaned everything up.

I purchased new in 1969, Chevelle SS 396/375 HP L78 4 speed M22 rock crusher with 3:73 rear end gears! Before I “special ordered” it I would spend time @ the local Chev dealer reviewing what options were available in the order book. To be truthful, I don’t ever remember seeing an option 4 L89 aluminum heads! I could be wrong, though! At $350.00 I may have just past by it as too expensive. Plus, I was 21 years old at the time & didn’t realize how awesome they would have been.Nevertheless, I drag raced a buddy who had a 1968 Chevelle SS 396/350HP automatic with standard rear ene gears(3:35) I think they were. Well we started from a rolling start, I was still in 1st gear, and we both floored our Chevelle’s simultaneously. I couldn’t pull on him more then half a car length to 120 MPH. To say the least I was a bit disappointed! Those were the heady days back I 1969 & 1970!

I know of a Dealer demo'd '68 L89 Camaro RS/SS..1 actual original owner yet! Corvette Bronze, Black vinyl top, Hockey stripe & Deluxe Interior, 8-track on console with guages, Tik-Tok-Tach, Muncie, Chambered exhaust..and headers in trunk at delivery!! Was a special delivery car for the dealer for selling so many cars that year. Still garaged and occasionally cruised in central Wisconsin. Only thing I know that's gone is original wheels..were swapped for Cragar S/S mags early on. RARE!!

White stripe paint like yours across the front also had rally mirrors ordered special and kind of rare to find. Why do cars on KZbin with such low mileage need to be restored? Yes, I can understand buffing out the paint, maybe using some polishing compound, and doing a lot of cleaning up the interior, engine and body panels, if it was stored improperly, but that's about it. Why did the alternator need to be rebuilt after only 11K miles? I don't believe anybody that markets stuff like this. The car does look nice from a video perspective, but I would have to personally look at it and drive it to know more.

@@WeBeAutosLtd Thx for taking the time to post that restoration video. I guess it's genuine. I just can't figure out why people store something(even if it's not a car like this) with such low mileage and let it go so far. Maybe, it's an estate car? Hmpt. Well, like I said, in my first reply it does look nice. Were the original aluminum heads salvaged?(Maybe, I missed that) Just to give you a little background......around 1977 I bought a '68 Camaro 327 4 speed with a 10 bolt posi, then replaced almost everything in the drive train, and turned it into a 427 open chamber, square port heads,(cast iron) 12.5 CR, ZL1 cam, M-22 fine spline rock crusher with a 12 bolt and 5:13's. I changed that to 4:88's eventually. Most of my friends had Camaros, Chevelles or Nova's, so while all that was a long time ago I still retain most of that time. It was a really good time too. One friend did have an original '69 SS 396, but I can't remember if it was the 325hp or the 375hp motor. I do remember that it was not an L-89. Maybe, it was an L-78.......
