Heck yeah man, good to see you getting your 455 done! I've been chasing an issue with mine, well I thought it was an issue. Turns out I bought quick bleed lifters and they are noisy as heck! I thought I got a bad batch, but it runs perfect. Time to put a louder exhaust on, I'm thinking of some old school mufflers I pulled from my teal Toronado!

Louder is better. What are quick bleed, I'll have to look them up. Is that an oil retention type deal to keep the oil downstairs

Looking good, cant wait to see it in the cutlass without any flaws this time, see ur really going outta your ways to make sure u don't have to pull the motor out again, good luck Marty🤘

Nice freaking motor! I can't wait to hear how it's gonna sound, Flowmaster exhaust I hope. Anyway, it's coming along nicely. Good luck with it!!

What's up Mark, I had it running 2 years ago and it sounds down right terroristic. I did have chambered mufflers on it and I hated the way it sounded. I ran it open header and it made my internal organs vibrate at idle. I got straight thru resonators for it now.

Edlejunk reminds me of the time the float and bowl on one of mine broke pissing gas through the carb. Covid was still a problem, so it was cheaper and easier to just buy a Holley Street Avenger off my Dad's friend. I don't have to adjust the idle or choke anymore.

@UsefulEntertainment always double check your driveshaft length... and account for rear end squat or added weight is all I'm gonna say

Fyi if your running headers on a four speed olds you either have to spend big bucks to buy over the frame headers or you have to make the throwout bearing hydraulic and eliminate the zbar. Problem is with the four speeds the zbar is in the way and possibly the distribution block for the brakes Just adding my two cents.

I had this motor in the car 2 years ago with an automatic, that being said I knew I was putting a 4 speed in it. I actually had the z bar hooked from the ball stud to the frame as a test fit. I did have to bend the one header tube. It's close, thinking I'm going to bend it more so it don't melt all the grease out of it.

The non hardening silicone I used by accident a few years ago the first time I put the motor together. The front looks good, I could care less about the back.
