I believe I do have this 1968 DDO penny (the D is doubly-thick and 9 appears slightly doubled or repunched too) among the 1000 coins I recently purchased from the estate of a 95-year old avid coin collector of 70 years who never had his collection evaluated. I will include it soon when I make my 2nd submission of coins to PCGS for grading. Still waiting to hear back about my first submission of 6 coins which they acknowledged receiving just today (1/18/21).

I believe I have one. I have the D over D you mentioned. Mine also seems to have an error with the rim and the letters and L in liberty. I swear I see something in the background on the obverse but, Im sure its just my imagination.

I just found a 68 D penny. It has a slight erroroffset on the obverse where “TRUST” touches the rim. I also have a 59 D penny with space there for comparison.

That's common on all copper pennies. Not worth anything over face value.

I'm new to all this coin collecting stuff. After watching many many videos I decided to take a few into a coin shop in des Moines. I was told they we not worth anything but face value. Maybe they wanted them at a cheap price idk. But if that's not the case why Is everyone so far from each other on the values of these coins. Not that I believe Google 100 but in search the value was so much more higher than a coin dealer. At any rate thanks for the videos on your channel I'm fascinated by all the different coins.

Yes, I just found one I looked down and seen that the head seem raised on it bigger than the newer Penny's,so I looked it up. Doing so I run across this video and I was able to determine that I have one.I just don't know how to sell anything, What do I do? Igot several different kind of old coins I've been trying to collect for years. I would let some go. How would I go about doing so?

Hello! I have a 68D that has several errors, including the rim being almost obsolete where wording ‘IN’ starts, but on the backside the stamping of the word States - the ‘S’ barely was stamped. The other letters are very crisp in detail, but it looks like ‘United Tates of America’. Due to the position the E is barely stamped at all either . But it appears to be a lot of pitting on backside of coin, not so much in the front. I’d sell it , though!

I Found a 2002 P Indiana State quarter that is double struck and was not firmly pressed so one side is not as defined as the other and the top boarder rim is missing.. is there a good online form i can use or is this something i could send pictures to you to look at? I have a new looking one 68D… it definitely has errors on the back. The D, T and 2 S’s are flattened. There are some marks on it like the one you are airing. This Penny is in good condition, looks brand new. This one is doubly punched… it’s super thick.

I have noticed that the 68 pennies metal composition appears to have a warmer softer color and luster to them. Possibly the planchett metal mix was a tad different.. Have y'all noticed that? Great show 😃😎

I have about 12 of the 1968 pennies. These were passed down to me by an uncle. It's a large collection. Some of these 1968s have strange errors, I'm sure that's why he kept them. I actually have almost every year of penny starting in 1910 up to just a few years ago. Most either look brand new or have something weird looking about them. Others are just brown and not sure why he kept so many. One of the 68 Ds only weighs 3.0 grams and it looks very strange, the back is kind of blank, looks rough, but feels smooth and the edge is kind of pushed over the sides, all the way around. I don't know what to make of it. Others are clipped. Others are a deep red. Some are still shiny. I have a strange 64 that looks brand new, as well as several other years; 3- 1962s brand new, 66, 69, 70, 71, and many others from the 40s to the 80s and 90s. And lots of errors in Quarters as well. I'm not sure what all I have but I'd like to sell them.
