The 68' Charger was the first Dodge I ever even found to be attractive. The 66' and 67 Chargers were just fastback Coronets.

I looked at a 69' Charger right out of HS in 1975. Ended up buying a 69' Road Runner. Ironically in 69' what I really wanted was a 69' 396 SS Chevelle or a 69' Mustang Mach1, but in 69' I was still several years from driving age.

I have an original 1968 Charger R/T that is the first car I bought when I graduated high school in 1980. I paid $800.00 for it and its in great shape and I'm not going to modify anything, or sell it.

That's great! People pay big money now to get back what they once had.

Like you, the '68 is my favorite of this gen. Although I've always kind of preferred the black/black sinister look on these Chargers, this is one heck of a beauty. I agree about the deeper yellow - gorgeous. I envy the next owner who is (hopefully) going to be cruising to their local hamburger stand next summer! (Please stop and pick me up. I'll buy.)

Needs to have thrush mufflers on it these cars that you guys are selling sometimes they just sound too metallic when they're running thrush mufflers gives it that good sound I had the thrush mufflers on two of my GTOs my 67 convertible GTO in my 68 GTO convertible red with a black convertible top they were both like that and I had thrush mufflers and it sounded so freaking awesome

I wish I could afford it. I live in southern Maine and folks from Boston drove our real estate price so high high, us normal medium income folk can’t afford anything anymore. You go rich people!

04:20 My old 69'Roadrunner had the same glove box. It was annoying as hell because every to you lifted the lid all you shit would try to fall out on the floor.

Blame Warner Bros./CBS for the reason that there's a severe shortage of 1968-'70 Chargers out there!!

Great looking car. My only concern is the "Steering Feel" or lack of. My sister had one when it was 5 years old. Great looking car - fast, but once you were going around tight corners, the steering wheel felt like it was disconnected from the car. Imagine the front wheels off the ground & turning the wheel with engine running. That's exactly how it felt. You could've turned it with a straw. Mechanics said that's how they all are & nothing was wrong with it. For me, I drove it & that's a big NO.

In 68 After xs29g on the vin will be the sequential number. It will be stamped on the front radiator support, top diver side of the engine block near the trans bell housing and the driver side trunk lid on 68, no you got me confused but in can’t remember if it’s on the vin tag on a 68. I’ll have to check mine when I get it back. Some of the number can be stamp upside down to like mine. Those number will also be on the build sheet and certa card. Can’t remember were it’s on the transmission, near the one on the engine or some were near the trans oil pan. If it’s an early 68 to mid year you could have got a trans from a 67. Mine has a 67 c body trans for a none hp 350hp 440. With no vin but still considered numbers matching from Mopar guru galen govier P.S. is that car all numbers matching?
@scatpack6813 күн бұрын
For '68 the radiator support and drivers side trunk lip should match the 6 digit shipping order number on the fender tag. The top rear of the block and top front of the trans case may be stamped with the last 8 digits of the vin. The broadcast sheet will tie these two sets of numbers together.

Cool I probably got it backwards I’m dyslexic. Galen Govier Is the one who told me about my car, he called the last digits sequential numbers

@scatpack68 Wow you have a very nice car! When I was looking for mine in 98 I could find a R/T that I could afford so I settled for my base model XP29H after reading about how there built for $6000. cheapest R/T was $18,000 and there was a 69 Daytona silver with red stripe auto 440 4spd with kesly recall wheels on it for $35,000 I was going to refinance my house for but I couldn’t pull the trigger and it would fit in my garage lol, wish I did.

That Daytona was in an estate sale in south Oregon if I remember right. Would have been a good investment.
