1968 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 GT 500 in Red Paint on My Car Story with Lou Costabile

On "My Car Story" we're in the West Suburbs of Chicago on 4-30-15.
We're looking at a 1968 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 in Red paint.
The car's Owner is Mark Hopkinson. He's had the car since 2005. I had the chance to discuss with Mark the features of the car and learn great details of this cars history.

The only thing I don't care for on the 68's are the big, ugly-ass rear quarter reflectors that look like they raided the F100 parts bin for. Great video. Fantastic car.

Man listen to that 428 growl. I had a 71' school bus yellow 351cleve 4spd hurst i rebuilt it in high school.mach1. I owned it 10 years in ohio. I couldn't afford rusteration. Sold it to a farmer with pockets. At 17 i rebuilt my e51 in my auncles tractor garage. It ran great. I hurt so bad to let it go. Your Shelby is GORGEOUS. My dad bought mine Mach 1. I'm glad a Good guy not a Snob got this SHELBY. Thanks for posting this Immaculate snake. 🐍 my dad was a mopar guy 69 cuda 440 but he knew 351 was a mover.

It looks ready to run without hubcaps i also had a 72 cuda 383 i use to pop my ralley rings the wheels looked track ready.

@@loucostabile Yeah it breaks my heart ❤️ to have sold it. There must have been a typo I had a 71' 383 orange with a black billboard 383 on the side. I bought it for $3000 in Tx. I got in a pinch after driving it back up to Oh where I sold it. I was p* ssed the $10 voltage regulator went out and my dad & I trouble shooted everything, come to find out it was on the side if the inside drivers fender! My friend had a 70' 383 roadrunner in Indiana & we were suppose to go to the Mopar Nationals inside the 500 track in Indy. Miss that cuda' went with my friend picked up a pistol grip shifter & fog lamps . Ordered Chrome tips from the local Mopar dealer$100 each direct connection. My dad had a 69' cuda' 440 he had to take the emblems down because every idiot wanted to race us. Thanks Lou!
