This jingle (the "Mustang's callin', have a ball in" version) has been stuck in my head for 47 years, ever since it found its way onto a tape of songs off the radio I recorded one afternoon back then and played over and over again.

Years later, the jingle became the basis for a local car dealer's jingle: "Only Berge Ford makes it happen Only Berge Ford leads the way Let them show you, and they know you'll Drive a Berge Ford come what may"

The opening scene in the showroom (with character actor Philip Bruns) was shot at Galpin Ford in North Hills, CA. (15505 Roscoe Blvd. @ 405 fwy). It's still there today, exactly as you see it here. When he drives off, you can see the dealership restaurant in the background.

The original Mustangs were the best of the best. There was a model for everybody, and this commercial does a wonderful job showing it. While the Mustang could be a genuine muscle car, at its base, the Mustang was an inexpensive, sporty car with V8 power that anybody could drive and anybody could enjoy. And I feel like that's something that was lost in the later versions.

The great thing about this jingle is that it sums up entirely what the Mustang is about. To the present day.

Except if you want to bring 3 instead of just 1 friend along in any stang since 1979. Yes the mustang II & even the pinto had room for 4! But not the "modern" stang or Camaro(the latter since 1982)..
@msquaretheoriginal10 ай бұрын
@@utuBrV1oI Pony cars by definition have lousy rear seats. Some lousier than others, and the Fox body Mustangs actually had the least lousy rear seats of any generation. The Pinto's rear seat wasn't much good either. Another reason they should have just built the Cortina here instead of wasting millions developing an inferior car.

The distinguished man who raced his chauffeur to the Mustang at the two-minute mark was '30s movie star Donald Woods (I don't know who the chauffeur was).

JWT in Argentina reused the music for Falcon and F-100 commercials filmed in Buenos Aires almost at the same time. I have to send it to "El Óvalo Azul", a Ford historian friend in Argentina.
