It was a perfect day (sunny and birdsong) to appreciate this fantastic 1968 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350 painted in that electrifying Calypso Coral! I mean, if Shelby himself approved it for a reason, hehe. I have a thing for these classic Mustangs, along with Corvettes. Aside from its eccentric color, I liked its bulging fiberglass hood, with those long air intakes and exhausts and elegant grilles; along with the flashy aluminum alloy rims. Its engine compartment looked impeccable, and the roar produced by its 302 CI V8 is attractive. The black interior matches the body color very well, and I love the wood details on the instrument panel, doors, steering wheel and clutch (a special mention for the "Carrol Shelby" signature along with the small golden "Cobra GT350" symbol on the glove box side). Nice surprises in the trunk; like that interesting collection of magazines, scale models, or that cool lamp with the model and realistic sounds of the car (oh, and that nice drawing the artist made of it). To finish, the final drive along those roads was very nice; along with the pleasant "click" that its gearbox produced. Congratulations to Mr. Skweres, for this unique Mustang and for having shared with us his interesting anecdotes with Carroll Shelby himself! Best regards, Lou!

Fun fact: the Calypso Coral was not offered on 1968 Mustangs. It became an option in 1969. But it makes no difference, it's still a cool find. Even cooler, since its a one-of-none.

There are cars and then there are CLASSICS and this one is a stunning example of a CLASSIC. There is no angle from which this car is viewed. Everywhere you look is something eye-catching and then it has what I'd call NUCLEAR ORANGE even if it was named more in a plebian fashion of coral. Mustangs of this era looked like Mustangs and were just right. The sound of the engine is as if Arthur Fidler were orchestrating the movement of the eight pistons and accompanying hardware. Bravo! Lou this is my favorite Mustang body. A neighbor purchased a red one new in 68. In addition to "How long have you had the car and why of all the cars in the world you chose this one?" Would you PLEASE ask the story of how they found and purchased the car?? The engine bay of this car is immaculate. Lou when you are featuring such a special car as the 1968 Mustang Shelby GT 350 Please front load what features are unique to that car. The car had a new paint job but the Chrome and bright work all looked new. That would have prompted a question from me. The addition of his car Man Cave was a plus. Again this is an amazing car find for MCS.

Amazing the mats in the trunk were used in the Maverick and Pinto . They had the hull on the maverick grabber designed for that 302 boss but ford backed off . That is the most beautiful car I’ve seen they are priceless to the owner . You can’t replace it America at its finest remember the car lots filled with all those fords and Chevys and Cudas . The rust hit them hard . Every corner had a parts shop . Had a YAMAHA RD 350 and you sat at the light and Revived it and let the clutch out and blow them away to the next light they would get mad as hell . 😂😂😂😂😂Fun times then came the super bikes .

So nice. Great color. I agree with MR. Shelby; I think he should keep it. ;) It's criminal to put 2.75 gears in a car like this. These all should have come with at least 3.50 gears with optional lower gears like 3.90-4.10 range options from there. I mean who bought these for fuel economy anyway? Let them roast the tires and stay right in that powerband for fun! First thing I would do with this car on day one, swap them hwy gears out and turn it into a tire shredder. :) Can so easily change them back, if you ever wanted to sell it, or just sell the center with the car....but no one should actually ever put it back in lol.
