Are the single piston calipers good? I was comparing it to the willwood but don't know if they'll have same stopping power.. any insight on that ? I got a kit that has all 4 disc brakes with single piston calipers.. not sure if I should upgrade it to the willwood kits!

Mine seem to work great. It really depends on your purpose for the car. Are you just driving to shows? Or racing?
@michaelteel84902 жыл бұрын
@@JoDaddysGarage well the engine is going to be a 302 converted to a 347 stroker should be pushing like 480+HP. But I won't be racing more so just a hobbyist driving around. Do you think all 4 single caliper pistons will give me enough stopping power?

Good video.... I converted my 55 Chevy truck front brake too... No boost... Is correct set up rotor??
@JoDaddysGarage9 жыл бұрын
Yong Cheon Disc brakes can be used with or without a booster. The booster makes it easier to apply pressure though.

I'm so used to ordering brake pads based on make and model of the vehicle....if you're upgrading from drum to disc....how do you walk in to Advance Auto and buy replacement pads? What do you tell them?
@JoDaddysGarage7 жыл бұрын
In this case, the pads are original style for a 1968 Mustang.

What made you choose CSRP? I'm about to order some Disc brakes for my 68 Mustang and there are SO MANY DIFFERENT COMPANIES and options.
@JoDaddysGarage9 жыл бұрын
+Mike Mckee I went with them because the price was reasonable, and I'm not building a race car. Just a nice driver. This kit is supposed to be what the car could have come with in 68.

I know... I was building the 65 Mustang (Mystique). I'm actually working on the installation of the lines and booster/master cylinder. Had a problem, and had to modify some things. It's coming soon, I promise.

I should've gotten this kit instead of MPB (Master Power Brakes kit) which costs more and doesn't have dust shields. Also with the MPB kit you pretty much have to make all new brake lines because their proportioning valve doesn't fit the stock layout of the factory brake lines. This little detail adds hours of work to what they claim is a straight forward conversion. Not only that but Master Power Brakes doesn't provide new tie rod ends like this kit. Finally, I highly recommend shopping around for the best brake conversion kit before buying. Read the comment sections. Sometimes you get an idea of the flaws or shortcomings of a particular kit from unhappy customers. All I can say is STEER CLEAR OF MASTER POWER BRAKES. Their quality control is crap and the kit is one time consuming frustration after another.

Does this car have power steering? I've got a 68 coupe and someone told me once "just go to the salvage yard and part out the rotors from a 69". lol More to it than that! I heard this conversion is around $1800?
@JoDaddysGarage9 жыл бұрын
jasonmushersee This is a manual steering car, but I am converting it to power steering as well. This kit cost me about $800 with shipping. www.discbrakeswap.com/Mustang%20Disc%20Brake%20Conversion%20Kits%20SWAP3.html
