Very well explained front disc brake conversion video set.... wish it was for a 69 Chevy Nova mind you but still was great to watch and see how the old Ford front discs are assembled .... again great videos and teaching !!!!

I don't know if CSRP is giving you any type of compensation for your video, but they really should be. I think you do a great job of explaining this install and appreciate your time and efforts in sharing this with the rest of the mustang community.

I'm not. I actually talked with the owner of the company, but not about compensation. I was trying to resolve fitment problems.

That is a perfect solution on the Booster Bracket. Thanks for sharing!

Jo, from my research of others and first hand on my 66, it appears that all of the kits have the same issue. They don't take into account that the fittings are a different size (in fact Ford used two sizes on the same proportioning valves with the input line being the larger one). Have NO clue why the kits don't "get it". Great video as usual

I had a '76 Maverick that had manual front disc brakes. I suspect that master cylinder would work and would be a lot less hassle.

THANK YOU...for sharing. I see you got some use out of the old pizza box. Would say the bracket was off from the get go? Nice fix.

I actually had quite a few pizza boxes that were used to protect a big sign that I picked up... long story...

The turret positions being That would have explained the differences in the lower control are positions when you changed them in a earlier vid.

About to install a power brake system in my 69. Got me worried about mine. do you have any notes on the measurements of the booster and master cylinder so I can run out and measure mine see if it will fit? Great videos like always. You do excellent work

Another great video! Just a question What are the major differences between the brake booster you have and say one without that added extra hump at the front of yours? I understood from your video that the 9 inch ones don't line up properly with the firewall mounting holes, is that right?
@JoDaddysGarage8 жыл бұрын
Usually the bigger aftermarket ones require removing the nuts that are welded to the steering column support bracket. They'll line up, just a different system.

Do you feel it would be worth taking the car to a frame shop and have it QC'ed and just stretched a smidgen as needed ?

I would have if I hadn't already welded everything in place...

Why did you upgrade the proportioning valve? What is the benefit of the new one? Did the pedal sit a bit high because you took off just a wee bit too much from the rod?
@JoDaddysGarage8 жыл бұрын
The original drum brake set-up had a metering block that was junk. The kit had a knob type proportioning valve that would be added to the metering block to achieve brake bias for the disc brakes. I wanted to simplify the system... As far as the pedal, it may actually be in the right spot. If I had cut off too much, it would sit even lower to the floor, not higher.

video shows you only used 1 brake line adapter, which one did you use-the dorman or BLF22c? and what did you use the other adapter for? where it was hit hard and its off by a 1/4 couldn't a frame alignment shop or you fix it with a chain pull frame machine it or pushing it back in place using a hydraulic portable ram or also I have used wooden blocks 2by4's with a hammer to put things back in place. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5nddn55o7p2erM

I don't recall the part numbers for the adapter. Sorry.
@fasterdrive2215 жыл бұрын
@@JoDaddysGarage no, I'm not asking for the part numbers, one can clearly see the part numbers on your video. I am trying to say you are showing 2 different adapters on your receipt but you only install 1 in your video, where did you install the other one?thanks
@JoDaddysGarage5 жыл бұрын
I see now. I guess I didn't explain that very well. Honestly, I don't remember. From the receipt, it appears they are different. I may have bought both just to save time going to the parts store. Sorry about that.

worst kit ever! throw the pedal it came with out and use the original pedal. not sure why they extended the pedal in the first place but its not necessary.
@sean-cz1lh7 жыл бұрын
thanks for the video though, i was wondering if it was just me or the kit really wasn't as "bolt on" as they said.
@JoDaddysGarage7 жыл бұрын
Actually, you need the long pedal. It would be what came factory in a disc brake car.
@mattrose48606 жыл бұрын
The longer pedal is for safety because if your booster fails, you will need more swing if the pedal to stop the car manually. If you reuse the old pedal the pedal will hit the floor before you reach the bottom of the braking
