It’s in pretty good shape for sure. The low back seat are from a 1963 that’s what it came with! There is very little rust that I have found so far! Thanks for watching.

I have a 1970 bug !!! Looks like a really nice bug to me! The 68 had high back seats but yours are low back. Great watching you work. I sit and think thats how I would do things. Didn't see much rust under the fenders ?

It's crazy how tight people put the lugs on the wheels,I had to chain the wheel up to brake the lugs lose.

I had one several years ago that was so weird. I put the nuts on with a lug wrench and the left rear would get so tight while driving that they would pop when you broke them loose and the vibration would come up the bar and hurt your hand.

@@vwmcgraw I rarely hate a beetle but I hated that one. It popped up through the wrench so hard it hurt. It did exactly what yours was doing.

@@vwmcgraw The one I had trouble with was a 72 super and it was just the left side.

The entire brake assembly on the front needs to be clocked 90 degrees so the wheel cylinder is positioned at the top, and the shoes perpendicular to the ground (just like the rear brakes). The brakes will not function otherwise.

I wonder why he put them on that way.

@@vwmcgraw it's curious for sure. From what I could see it looked like the brake assembly was done correctly, with everything in its place, it was just 90° off. Good luck with your bug!

What is your plan for Replacing the undercoating? I know you said you plan to paint it, I'm just wondering what you are going to do for protecting the wheel wells.
@vwmcgraw15 күн бұрын
I’m gonna spray Raptor liner for the undercoating that’s what I used on the floor of the bus I had and it held up really good it didn’t have any problems.
