Only 1,512 built total, ever! AMC wanted a muscle car to compete with the big three automakers. Easy, they just stuffed a big motor in a compact car. The typically very mundane Rambler Rogue was their car of choice. With the help of Hurst performance, they created a car that could blow the doors off some pedigreed muscle cars. At the time there wasn't much budget for AMC to promote. The car needed to be its own billboard, so it was given a wild appearance that was at the time considered obnoxious. Today it is an exciting car and highly sought after. This one is a very solid, complete car that's mostly original. Maintained as needed, original drivetrain. Verified authentic by the X and M in the vin.
EXTERIOR: It certainly makes a statement. The red sides and blue stripe are outlined in black. The body on this car really appears to be dry. The metal is clean and straight. All 4 wheel well lips are folded in for the wide tires, this was done at the factory on all SC/ Ramblers. It had a 1 time repaint years ago. It shows well but isn't perfect. It has its original "snout" ram air scoop and hood pins. It also has its original bullet style mirrors. Each car also features a custom grill, black tail panel and special emblems. As if the red, white, and blue paint wasn't already enough- AMC thought the wheels should be blue too! The wheels were just painted, the owner left the trim rings off, but they are included with the car too. They are wrapped in radial redline tires.
INTERIOR: It is essentially the same as a Rambler inside other than red, white and blue headrests and an Sun Tachometer on the column. Both front seats recline. It appears to be in original condition including the carpet, door panels and upholstery. Original waffle print headliner. The dash area is exceptional, there are no cracks in the dash pad, the instrument panel is excellent. It has a rare radio delete plate, no antenna on the car either.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has its original 390-315 HP motor with original # tag on the valve cover. The ram air induction system is complete and functional. It looks stock manifolds, ignition system etc. The cap, coil and wires look new. It has power brakes. The engine bay looks to have clean metal.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Trunk is rock solid. The metal looks original, the paint under the trunk lid even looks original. It has a mat and a spare.
UNDERSIDE: Each SC Rambler was equipped with heavy duty suspension. This includes a swaybar, staggered rear shocks and torque links. Dual exhaust has Flowmaster mufflers. Looking up at the motor it has 390 cast right on the block. Correct T-10 4-speed. 3.54 Twin Grip rear end. The floors are rock solid. Overall original condition.
This is one of the rarest, most exciting muscle cars built. It certainly creates conversation wherever it goes. It is a mostly unrestored example, that appears to be rust free and complete.

What a treat, you can’t say that Jay’s awesome selection is lacking, everything from 190k Camaros to this one which in my HO is absolutely freaking kool. I was 16 when these obnoxious examples of AMCs attempt to compete with the likes of the Z cars the Mach 1s, Pontiac Judge, Transam and so on, Jay is correct about one thing these little boxes were lighting fast and very light, I saw many a GM muscle car get embarrassed!!

woww, such a rare car, being a French, i can say that i heard at the time in 90' my brother talking about this model (owner of some garage, he got some personal collection about 20 american muscle cars from 60' and 70'), but i will have never imagine see this model for sale. I m wondering how much it was, but this model seems to be in very good condition. Thanks for this presentation !

For those who are curious the stock times are 14.3 @ 100. The Pure Stock guys are mid to high 13's. They take well to modifications. The blue wheels look better with the trim rings on. Im not a fan of the red lines on these, mine has raised whites on it, helps the overall look. For those who don't know, the rwb headrest is actually just a cover. The headrest is charcoal underneath like the rest of seat. Radio was the only option other than the other paint scheme.

We had a 67 Rambler Rebel 500 when I was a kid, and you could certainly see that Chrysler corporation touch because it looked pretty much like a scaled down 69 Roadrunner. That 69 had a terrible color scheme, horrendous hood scoop, and ugly wheels, but what a gem to have that car today. Never imagined ever seeing one of these again. Great find Jay!👍

I'm confused by your view of Chrysler influence in a '67 Rebel with a '69 Roadrunner. Chrysler had nothing to do with AMC until 1988. And how can a '67 model be influenced by a '69??? Yes, the Satellite definitely looked like the Rebel. I believe your interpretation is transposed.

i looked it up for you guys in how fast it runs in stock form 13.28 at 106 mph i think it could have ran little better because the guy look to me had a bad start if you ask me thats fast numbers back then

Dude, where have you been? This car is from 50 years ago...it was a thing. You ain't getting it here... They'll be saying worse about EVERY ONE of the fugly SUV/Crossovers that currently grace the roads now in 50 years.
