Looks good, make sure your subframe is square and the radiator support is square as well as that effects the whole front clip fitment.

I'm restoring a 1968 firebird and I had the same issue with the passenger door gap. Ended up slotting metal a little bit around the box nuts on the pillar.

I am having the same problems with my '68. There is no adjustability in the assembly so slotting the hinges is the only option. Looks like a Detroit Speed crossmember under the package tray. Same as what I have done if so.

AMD warranties the doors. I had the same thing with the passenger door on my 69. When they stamp them if they stamped a large large quantity of the run the dyes wear out a little and the welds can be off when they skin it. I'm talking miniscule tolerance differences. On my Camaro they send us a new door shell and it was 100% perfect. Friend of mine had the same issue on 69 Charger, in that case we just cut the door skin off, moved it to the correct place and re-welded the skin (charger doors are way more expensive).

Great video. What's your wheel and tire size? Are you using spacers?

I install AMD parts and other companies parts and have never had to do this much work. Never had to slot door Hinges. I have rebuilt over 700 cars. Did you replace the rockers on this car. It looks good either way. Good job and God bless you

Nice work, thanks for the upload! Were there any issues with your fender to door gaps? Do you have original fenders? I have repop front fenders and there is a huge gap between the rear of the front fenders and the doors on the front.

How hard was it to get the body lines straight?
@DillanFisher2 жыл бұрын
The body lines were pretty difficult to get straight. With these panels there's a lot of excess metal and a ton of not completely folded metal that you need to work. My advice to people is to definitely have all your body panels before you weld any quarters on the car. If you weld the quarters before you fit the doors,fenders,hood,trunk you will be in a much bigger hole to fix. Amd Does a good job though for the most part, definitely still needs metal work but a good base none the less.

Everyone raves about amd. Proof it's just more junk just like the rest.
