Unlike a lot of cars that show up to our doors, this 1969 Corvette L88 showed up in pretty decent shape. It wasn't until taking a closer look that we started to notice what needed to be fixed. Will it end up nicer than this C3 Corvette we did a new video on? • STUNNED! The Perfect B...
Upon taking it for a test drive, Peter notes down what is working and what isn't. The customer has strict parameters for what he wants, and we intend to make him happy. Restoration videos are our favourite, but they take a long time to produce. Stay tuned for an upcoming Ferrari restoration coming out soon!

For the money they will do anything but ethically they should have at least drop another engine in there and preserve the original.engine

Why would you modify an engine and brakes of a 1 of 1088 cars. It’s foolish

Ruined an L88 goes on their list of “ accomplishments “ if they fuck up a numbers matching block I thought peter klute had better judgement when it came to preserving extremely rare muscle cars

I would try to preserve it if I owned it. They are only original once!

Why are you driving it/putting miles on it? Why are you modifying it from stock? Yikes...

You have yourself a gem of a car there, mister! I loooove the color. I don't know if it's an original corvette color, but I do know that the mid '60's('65-67) had a color called, aptly, "royal plum" on their main line cars(Impala, Caprice). It was one of my favorite colors and looks almost black in dim light. Beautiful.

the car looks better here, before you (LM) started messing with it. you screwed up the angle of the front bumper, and put those silly looking skinny tires.

I've never understood Peter and the people who think like him when it comes to restoring cars. A car is original ONLY ONCE. Just because you use OEM parts, overspray certain areas like the factory did, hand paint inspection numbers and all the other stuff that pretends to make the car "factory", it isn't factory. So why go to all the bother? It's like buying a replica or fake Rolex. It's either real or it isn't. There is no GRAY AREA. Peter and many other shops go to extreme lengths trying to convince their customers that this or that car is exactly like it was when it left the factory. Oh, really??

Louis I understand your point, but that's not a good analogy with the fake Rolex. If Peter starts with an original L88 , and then does a "factory" restoration, it's restored to factory condition. The key word is "original". That's the way that car left the factory. Yes, a car is only original once, agreed. But if someone took a small block 69 Vette, and made it into an L88.... there's your fake Rolex ! Just as long as these restoration shops are honest about the cars they're selling, I have no problem with a "factory" style restoration. Some of these shops are so good at their trade, it's hard to tell if it's original or not. We could all use a blast down the road in a BB Vette right about now, with all that's going down these days

I don't understand why Chevrolet would offer the L-88 in a convertible. I know the convertible's chassis is definitely stiffened up but you'd think the roof would be a necessity to handle the torque generated by this motor.

The real racers would order the convertible with the hardtop in place of the soft top (same price), the car was cheaper this way than the coupe, had better aero and the hardtop added stiffness back to the car.
