I had a friend in H.S, that had a '69 SS Camaro with the same 350/350 HP engine. It was an extremely fast car for back in the day....if he hadn't had the predilection for always missing the 3rd gear shift I don't think he would have ever lost a race...haha!

I couldn't stop looking at the bad fit of the drivers side T-tops during the drive. What's up with that big gap? It was not addressed during the walk around.
@rocksolidmotorsports
@rocksolidmotorsports 5 ай бұрын
The driver's side T-top fits the car just as it should. The interior panel on the inside of the driver's T-top is warped a little from age and that is what you are seeing. You are correct, we forgot to address it in the walk-around. Sorry about that.

Yes It's an L46, after the LT-1 ended in 1972 they used this hydraulic camshaft with an iron intake and q-jet carb with the rest of the LT-1 assembly to create the L82 for 1973.

@@thud9797 So GM was allowed to use this radical cam after 1970?I was into Pontiac in those years,and they were forced by EPA standards for ‘71 to reduce compression and use milder camshafts.The reason they went to larger displacement,milder cams,for their performance packages.
@thud9797
@thud9797 21 күн бұрын
@@babaoreally8220 Yes, they used the L46 cam in the L82 with the same 4-bolt block, hd rods, forged 9 to 1 pistons and 2.02 big valve heads thru 1980. For 78-80 the intake also went back to aluminum and the exhaust was 2.5" vs 2.25" for L48. You really got a lot of good parts under the hood for $500 with the L82, they got the deep high speed pulleys and also the ability to get the M21 close ratio 4-speed along with lower gears like 3.70, from 73 thru 75 you could even still get a 4.11 gear. Just needed to get some of that emissions junk off the car and those L82s would run.

The 69 I had that crack on top of the fender will go down to the wheel well opening the front shakes on rough roads and will crack both sides. The one I missed out on was a 65 396 3 speed on the floor of course I was 15 at the time and had no license lol.

The interior is not that big. You would think that the A/C could cool it down adequately unless it is not operating properly? Gorgeous looking Corvette just the same . The black paint looks beautiful. It runs very well and sounds amazing Just a beautiful classic Corvette. Thank for sharing.

Problem 6 to 700 lbs of 200+ degree engine and transmission separated from the passenger compartment by 1/4 inch of fiberglass and some worn out insulation. So really everything in these cars needs to be addressed to get you cooled down. Can't deal with the heat like I used to, I need some good ac these days! 😀
I bought a classic Corvette for only $3500.
