I can’t remember seeing one of these at a show ever! And this one even has air, and is in perfect shape. And it’s a family car! I don’t know how rare a blue interior really is, but my Buick Electra also has one, and I like it. The old cars have a lot of things we miss on our newer cars. Anyway, as usual, a great car, and car story. Thanks so much, Lou.

The late Sixties was the time of "Dodge Fever" and now, more than half a century later, it looks like this family's caught it big time! I agree, this Coronet 500 ragtop does look sensational! So did the coupes, sedans and wagons for that matter. Dodge had quite a memorable ad campaign in 1969 with lovely and charming spokeswoman Joanie Parker in her white minidress and matching go-go boots, and Fever victims encountering some kind of humorous mishap whenever she brought a new Dodge into their view. You can find those commercials here on KZbin. Great to see this family bringing on the Fever together! ILL CYA in the next 1!

A very nice car! I always really like the styling of the mid size 1968 and '69 Chrysler Corp. cars. Years ago I had a 1967 Coronet 4 door sedan with the 318 V8, but with non power drum brakes, and no power steering. In 1969 the disc brakes were much more available.

I remember in my genius youth days when I'd pull the carpet and cut that floorpan to weld in a junkyard shifter tower, build a 440 or Hemi with a A-833 behind it, and make it a real beast. Beautiful ride!! Makes me reminisce about my two most favorite previous cars. First a 1968 B5 blue with white interior and white vinyl top Coronet R/T 440 Magnum. I had aftermarket turbine style wheels with raised white letter tires. It was very strong and quite striking. Subsequently, a 1982 white with blue interior Renault Fuego with a giant retractable fabric sunroof almost like a convertible. Like yours, white with blue interior is a really nice combination. Both were fantastic cars. The Fuego was sadly totaled by an idiot running a red light 😩. I was the idiot who in the mid 1980’s who with no place to store it, donated my Coronet to charity 😱😩😱.

Nice ride, vintage, proper looking. Something about older Chryslers, just a touch off on styling. In this 500 the 3 tail light design and the blah black dash around switches. Blue interiors are way rarer than black or red, much nicer too. Great job Joe, way to pass the baton to the kids.

On the contrary, I think the styling is great, looked good, unique in 1969, and certainty nothing like it today. The 3rd tail light in center makes the car look meaner and more sporty, I think. It was just reflective, no bulbs behind it. Our family's Coronet was bulletproof mechanically, especially the engine, but the ride and quietness left a little to be desired. But this was a lifetime ago, almost.
@stevekaminski53274 жыл бұрын

Great !!! This made my day !!! The B/W/B with the top up is killer ! So many of these cars rusted away,,,,how a convertible with under 80 K original miles on the clock looks this great is astounding. man, I bought a '69 Charger in '77. I was actually wanting a Coronet, esp a '69 (I LOVE the 3 segment tail lights). Lest anyone think a 318 is a grocery getter (like I once did), nope. '88 or so, there's a '71 black Challenger on a private party lot. I'm looking at it and a guy shows up with the keys. Starts it, lets it idle and then dang near redlines it and holds it....looking for a miss. None. Screamed ! I didn't like this but he did. Bought the car. Two months later I have my '72 C10 pick up truck at a Winston Tires (remember them?) and what comes flying in, that same 318 Challenger ! Vid here is great. Nice with the kids and all. Thanx, Lou !
