Love the car, and the color. These are some of the cars I grew up with, I was 13 yrs old in 1969. Always thought these Torinos were cool. We have a '73 Mach 1, yellow and black, and it really shows up coming down the road. We enjoy taking it to car shows and cruise ins, and tinkering on it. Got some more things I want to do to it, but it's been something my wife and I enjoy doing together. Great job on your restoration.

Absolutely gorgeous. The yellow is stunning and with that beautiful black interior and black decal package it just pops. Just simply automotive artistry. Thanks for sharing!!

Man that is a nice car! Something different for sure! I love the yellow and black. My grandpa had yellow and black trucks for his dozer service 1950's to 1980 so the color combo was on both of my Fox Body Mustangs. Anyway I love Ford's and this car is so cool

The 428 Super Cobra Jet came out late in the 1969 model year, so all early 1969 428 Cobra Jet are non-428 Super Cobra Jet engines and the Detroit Locker rear was not factory installed until the 428 Super Cobra Jet engine came out. 1968 and early 1969 428 Cobra Jet engines were available with 3.91 and 4.30 Traction-Lok rear ends, but not after the 428 Super Cobra Jet engine was released in 1969.

Very nice looking Torino. I think the stance is pretty much perfect. Like the yellow also. If your thinking of a color change, Ford had a color in the mid and late 60s called lime gold metallic. Really sharp color. I do believe i saw a 68 o 9 Torino in that color years ago. It was mostly on LTDs and Galaxies. Probably weren't to many Torinos painted that color. Just throwing that out there. Sweet looking GT man , sweet

You’re right, they did make them in Lime Gold Metallic. I’ve seen several pictures, but have never seen one in person. Would be very interested in seeing it in person.

Beautiful car nice job restoring it! I have a bright yellow with black interior 66 Chevelle SS so I'm a big fan of this color combination! Sounds excellent what are the cam specs if you wouldn't mind sharing? I also have a 7 Litre 66 Galaxie would love to put that cam in it.

Max. I think it’s 150? I could be wrong about that. Whatever the instructions said was max is what I put in them.

Very nice car. I’m restoring a 68 s code Gt right now. I’m going to go the same wheels. I was thinking 275/60/15 rear and 245s front. What size did you go with, it has a good look. I just finished a firewall/cowl replacement for this past weekend Lol. Glad that’s done! I only patched a couple places on the floors also. What’s your rear gear? Idk mine I need to get a Marty report ordered up. I have a 65 fastback I’ve had since I was 14 payed 650$ for each one of my cars so they were rough. I really like what you’ve done so far hopefully you’ll post up as it comes along. Really nice to see those wheels as you walked around for my own reference. Enjoy!
@magz72745 ай бұрын
Thanks man! On the rear, 275/60/15 is what I have. It is tight but it works, just makes sure your rear end is centered perfectly. Mine was just a tad off to the drivers side so I thought I was going to have clearance issues. Centered it and all good. The front I have 255’s and they’re fine, no issues. Rear gear is 3.50, open. I am very seriously considering swapping it with 3.73 traction lock. Will probably do that sooner rather than later. I’ll definitely keep posting! Thanks for watching!

Older Brother's first car was a 69 Torino GT coupe. Was of the 351 Windsor variety, nowhere near the beast this is. White with Blue interior. 100% original. The car was 14 years old at the time. For the OEM only purists, I can verify that in order to avoid the crusher, aftermarket parts were required. OEM original is cool in a collectors garage as reference pieces. But they don't represent the natural car. The car most likely was bone stock the first 5 to 10 years. By that time they were either wrecked and canibalized, or scrapped. In order to keep them viable and desired the next owner might change the carb and exhaust, or the wheels and tires, or stereo. My brother's first car is still on the road, the guy he sold it to in college has kept it appearing original, but dropped an insane schizophrenic Cleveland/C6 build in it. Think of it as a person. It was bone stock as a teen, slightly modified for until it was 18, then built to the nutz until it's 54. Now take a man. Grew up on a farm until he was 14, moved to the city until he was 18 when he joined the Navy and became a sailor until he was 54. Do you define that man as a farmer, city slicker, or sailor? Anyone eho gives you grief over a cam can grab two fistfuls of sand and pound then up an oriface. Those things handled better than you would expect too. Beautiful piece. Thanks for putting it out there. Also green. That old green just looks right on that era to me.

Thanks for checking it out! Your brother’s old car sounds awesome! And yeah, I was surprised at how awesome this car handles! They’re really great cars to drive. Green is definitely on the list of considerations.
