I just same one. How can tell the 1970 k3 from the 1969..I am trying to figure that out and it’s really hard to find marching tires…were you able to find matching 3.00 x 18 and 3.00 x19 tires?

Shinko 244 tires work great. Not sure on identification. I think the serial number? (VIN)

does it have to be in neutral to start it? do you have to hold the clutch in?

Neutral yes, clutch no

Make sure you get the right ratios. Tach is 7:1 and speedo is 2240:60 www.ebay.com/str/4into1motorcycleparts?_trksid=p2047675.m3561.l2563

I'm pretty sure you do need the battery. Common-motor.com has lots of good stuff for these bikes. New condenser, points, coils, regulator/rectifier. All pretty cheap and easy to do.
