It was the last summer before my draft. I had just graduated high school. I was working on my third girlfriend. I drove a 1957 Corvette. I had the world in the palm of my hand! 55 years later, I look back with the wisdom of life and shake my head at all the opportunities I was blind to. But the music stayed the same. Like an old friend.

don’t listen to all the naysayers if they don’t agree with you, they can keep their opinion to themselves. I am only riding to say that I agree with you my ex played in a band during the 70s and we had the best music ever the baby boomer generation today’s music is all the same most of it doesn’t have a message. Most of it is negative to women and sex and stealing and drugs not that some of our music wasn’t too, but not as bad as it is today , our music had very varied vocals very musical chords. It wasn’t like today. It’s all the same repetitive it all sounds the same. We had the best music.!!!❤

Hello there, Today is my 76th birthday and like yourself feel like all this music was as of just yesterday. What we have today is sheer crap in comparison! So many treasured memories that are just priceless! I love the 50's 60's and 70's mostly. It is such a shame how badly the world has changed particularly in music. We will never see the likes of them again. Such a shame! Regards, Brian.

Bought a used 1961 Corvette in immaculate condition in 1967, my senior year of H.S, had two motorcycles, dated several girlfriend’s, listened to great rock & roll music of that generation. Suppose some would say I had it made at such a young age, but I worked for what I had. July of 1969 rolled around, moon shot landing was on July 20th of that year, but I paid no attention, didn’t care, entered military service on the 22nd of that month. Ended up at Ft. Bragg with the 82nd Airborne Division as a Paratrooper, still listening to great rock. The era is long past me now, but I’m still listening to the great rock of that era & my youth! As Frank Sinatra sang, “I did it my way”, there could have been other way!

I was 11 years old and met my lifetime best friend Cecelia aka Happy. She passed due to breast cancer 2016. /she would have been 67 this year. We had so much fun at her aunt Mildred's house listening to this good music and enjoying the effects of black light and posters. Just a place where we cold be ourselves amongst all of the political and racial woes of this country. What a classic time and classic music. my dada listened to rock and al kinds of music. though I'm African American, dad encouraged me to listen to all kinds of music because its about life. Music today I truly have no comment. I am glad I grew when I did.

I graduated from High School in 1969. When I played this video with some friend's children listening, they were AMAZED that I knew every word to every song. They called this music, prehistoric. ---> They heard the music, but they didn't LISTEN to it. I had to explain each song's meaning in the context of the times. I told them that songs were one of the Best methods to convey your message, sometimes the ONLY way. ---> I told them the saga of the censorship of the “cutting edge” variety show, The Smothers Brothers Show, and how they played games trying to get their messages past the CBS censors. They criticized the Government's War in Vietnam by using their Music with new twists that often got by the censors who could not keep up with their constantly changing innuendos, really creative double meanings, and inspired situational comedy. ---> Those kids sat there spellbound, for nearly 5 hours, listening to me tell my stories, and playing all the music from that era and the others that we talked about. I know by the questions they asked, that they now looked at music in a totally different way, viewing it with a newfound respect and a thirsty curiosity. It was no longer just something you played in the background, while you did something else! ---> I really felt exhilarated and strangely satisfied. I realized that I just had felt what teachers must feel, it was a real rush that, to a teacher, (and now, to me) it would have been considered to be a rare and very special event. It was achieving a teacher's dream of passing on knowledge, understanding, and the wisdom of the ages, to willing fresh young minds. ---> There was another quasi-epiphany moment, for me. Regarding the "TEACHER'S RUSH" that I felt: I learned that it's one thing to intellectually think about that feeling, but it's a completely different thing, to EXPERIENCE it. It was something so exceptional, that I can't even put words to it! TOO BAD that I'm an anachronism, and older than methane, or I'd seriously think about starting another career, in teaching! ---> It's true, that you have to live your life, FORWARDS, but sometimes, you can only understand it, looking backwards!

Zeppelin is a blessing and I'm grateful for the time I was graced to be in their presence back in the day.... April 30th, 1977 @ the Pontiac stadium in Pontiac,Michigan... it was the largest recorded crowd ever with over 77, 000 in attendance! I was just 17 and still have photos of my bf and myself wearing our Zep tees! Great playlist!!! Ty

I miss Micheal Jackson I really enjoy music now comes let the sun shine in age of aquarius. I love music. 69 was a great year for music. So many of my friends have left this world. May God bless all. Ole blue eyes, MY WAY was one of my dads favorites, this mix is cool! I was only 6 in summer '69, but a vivid memory was cape canaveral? apollo 11? Blast off, the ground shook, i think we were in a holiday inn parking lot on blacktop, across the bay, i left my family in the crowd to see up front, i could of landed in the bay there? I was on a rock ledge, i could see the creatures under water, it wasnt that deep, but i scared the crap out of my father, i heard him screaming for me, lol

A lot of this music is the sound track for the Viet Nam war. You'll notice it has a very strong masculine character.

I was only 5 years old so I listened to whatever my mom or dad had on the radio. Mom listened to pop and light rock music like Elvis, CCR and Neil Diamond while my dad played bass in a Top 40 R&B band but listened to a lot of jazz records.

I was 15, great music that was/is part of my life !! Young and brainwashed at the time. Projected lies from our government and the media, which I'm aware of now, so the history of that time, in fact for 200 years is 80% muniptlated lies !! Anyways we have the greatest music ever created, Thank you so much ❤!!
