Won't you have to disconnect the hoses for the brake reservoir when you put the body back on? Also that piece that your missing is more like a clip that folds over to keep the rod in place. You could probably make one. its just a piece of metal like the tab you made, just with a hole the size of the rod. You can use real thin metal, because it is designed to bend to lock it it in place.

Yap I will remove the brake fluid reservoir once I pump the system. I just want to make sure everything is right before I paint the body. TRUE I could fabricate something but sometimes is easier to buy things when they are available. For example, I could spend 1-3 hours trying to fabricate a bracket or I could spend less than $10.00 dollars to buy it. On the next video I will put the missing pieces back on which cost me less than $10.00 dollars. GREAT COMMENT!!

I have a few books but I always find good information from "How to Keep Your Volkswagen Alive: A Manual of Step-by-Step" and "Volkswagen Official Service Manual - Beetle and Karmann Ghia 1966-1969". These two books have everything you need to know.

What was the book you used for your 1969 VW Beetle? I have a Bradley GT2 on a 1969 VW chassis. I'll take whatever help I can get with this beast. Thanks!

I would start by buying the official service manual!. What are you doing to your GT2?
