Really great video, so so useful. I cut the slits for the seat backs in the rear headrest covers before fitting the hog rings on the frame. That part was not shown. Thank you so much, was able to achieve a professional looking finish by following this.

I got my 70 leather seat covers from Eckler's, they came out great. Not too hard to cover, just take your time.

This procedure was set up making sure everything fit good and very easy before the video was made. I ripped my finger nails from both hands pulling the leather to fit. They don't go on so easily like in this video. My bottom seat covers ( Leather ) fit very tight at the back , not like these go on very easy, at time 11:39 - 11:52 . The Leather at the rear in this video comes right up to the frame . My leather took all my might pulling on it to get it clipped to the frame , also, one corner was not sewed evenly to fit the edge of the frame. I called Corvetteamerica about them being tight and was told that the covers were made to scale and they don't see how this could happen. I called them before I tried installing the leather cause they looked small , so after I installed them I was right they were not built right.(tight at the bottom rear) If you buy the covers from Eckler's , even if the covers come from Corvetteamerica the warranty has to be thru Eckler's so keep that in mind.

They make it look easier than it is. Once you buy the covers and foam along with kit and wires and get started, you know they're not going to let you return after you get discouraged. You can either somehow get it done yourself or take it to an auto trimmer and pay a bunch to get it done. Or send it to them to have it done. Either way they made 7 hundred bucks for vinyl covers. foam, etc. I did mine but would never do it again.

@@joebergman8920 .... Yes , I'm glad you hung in there and got it done. Mine fit tight , so tight that after I was done I could have choked and killed a bear with my hands. I had never recovered any seats before in my life but watched their video and took my time removing my covers remembering how they were on and got it done better than Corvette America did. I used the real leather set but I 'm sure it was made somewhat smaller than it should have been.

I ordered leather-like vinyl and they were very tight. Thought there was no way they would work, but got it done, although they don’t have the same fit as shown in the video. Hopefully they will ease in a little.

Good video and easy to follow on how to do it, But .. If possible try and save the factory 3/4 clips used on the back listing .. far superior than what is supplied in the kit (if purchased) .. I had all vinyl cover's and rolling them over the top of the back was "very interesting" as vinyl doesn't stretch like leather .. the use of a hair dryer to loosen up the material goes a long way too . .

Same issue with the 3/4 clips. Many of them were bending and not holding. The wire seemed thinner than the others.

If only my leather covers would stretch like vinyl. I might have a fighting chance at getting them on without ruining them.

I'm not sure if this video is correct when he states that the clips are 3/4 " for the back seat and 1 1/2 for the bottom seat cause my kit came with 5/8 clips for the back seat and 1 1/4 for the bottom. This mix up is bad and needs to be fixed . I just spoke with Eckler's and they stated that the wire kits they have is what I have and the kit comes from the same vender. Now, I have to stop my build until this is fixed . You can't use the wrong clips and later find it to be wrong. Video was wrong with the size clip , just take this in consideration, and the kit that came worked.

My kit (from Zip) came with a bunch more 1-1/2" clips than 3/4" clips. The instructions for the kit calls for 1-1/2" along the sides where in the video they use 3/4" I can see why they use the 3/4" because my 1-1/2" clips dont pull at all, very loose. (Side note my kit in the instructions said 18 of these clips were included and I only have 15... have counted probably 10 damn times.... 15. )

Why did I get 1/2” clips instead of 3/4” clips? The 1/2” clips bend and pop loose and shutting the project down.

I must admit the video is well done but I have screwed up the clip sizes and not everything fits on top of that may I just say it’s kind of iratating to see how easily it’s done and struggle to finish

This installation should begin with “People, DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME”!!! Remarkably difficult installation!!!

DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME! They do not show the direction of the seat clips, or the wires that attach to the corrugated wire, which is VERY important in getting the tool to fasten the clip to corrugated wire. I found out the hard way when the tool slipped off the clip and sliced into the area between my thumb and index finger. Luckily the blood on the foam won't be seen.
