A direct air flow can & will out perform any vacuum with a by pass hose this includes Dyson ect . I own a Santaire upright & I did test against a. Dyson using a paper towel tube & the Santaire won the battle! It held the empty paper tube . That should tell you something!

Also, toward the end, we see the Eureka logo (Helvetica Bold) trailing around (watch 0:51), so that means that logo must've debuted before 1974.
