Most incredible talented build I have seen yet. Very involved fabrication skills. Obviously a welder by trade. Had to be thousands of hours in this project. What a beginning to what an end. Perfect.

In ‘78 my Dad put a Cummins V-6 turbo in his new Ford. Then he bought a new ‘79 Supercab 4x4 longbed and put in a Turbocharged Isuzu in-line 6. Those were the sweetest trucks ever.

excellent example of some custom fabrication. Excellent result. I'm not much on lifted trucks, their pretty dumb, but I appreciate the craftsmanship of this build.

How much? I want one. The Ford's from 73 to 79 look so damn good. I had a 78 f250 4x4 before it got stolen. Never got it back. The 67 to72 are nice to but I have a soft spot for the 78s. Very nice build.

It's a sixth gen truck. 1973-79. This one isn't newer than 1977½ though, that's when they moved the gas tank from behind the seat.
@fordguy81616 жыл бұрын
Ken MacMillan crew cabs never had in cab tanks only high boys because they had a narrow frame.
@Ken197006 жыл бұрын
That claim is disproven 5 seconds into this video. The truth is that all Ford trucks had narrow frames and in-cab gas tanks right up until the government forced them to move the tank, that happened halfway through the 1977 model year.

I have a 97 f250 extended cab long bed, I was trying to source out a crew cab short bed but I found mine for sale right up the road from me, and only having 75k original miles I couldn't pass it up. But now my question is. Is it possible to do a crew cab short bed swap on that frame? I was told no but I would love your feedback on this subject. And if it's possible I will gladly send you my truck to be worked on.

Your work is flawless, very nearly to the point of blending completely in. Much or it replicates a factory job. Your talents are obvious even though your work is (unfortunately) not. It is said hard work is it's own reward, sadly there is little succor in that. Mike

I am a Ford man from birth until I die Cummins is not the best engine but it's okay that being said the divorced transfer case is a good idea and going through it and rebuilding it even better a crew cab 250 is okay I would have like to seen a 350 dually 4 by 4 the color sucks a baby shit green but most importantly as a CNC machinist working in a structural steel Fab shop I would not trust one single weld on that pick up and I call it a pickup because the frame and the weld work will not hold up to a true Ford the transmission is a good choice and divorced rto 6610 pick up some welding skills or take it to a real weld shop and you got a real truck

@jdias516 жыл бұрын
Greg just to stick with "ford" even though its a international motor lol but dam what a nice truck im a Chevy guy but thats a nearly
@greg6576 жыл бұрын
Jesse Dias But they're not dropping a dodge engine into a Ford either. I would say that makes it fair game. I'd go with the cummins,far better track record. I dealt with those 7.3s back in the day and they didn't leave a real good taste in my mouth. They may have been better than the 6.2/ 6.5 gm's but I don't know by how much. And you're right, nice build. Those old Ford crewcabs are tough to find. Hope it works out.
