I bought my 1st car in 1979, age 16, and it was a 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner, for $625.00. 383 pistol grip 4 speed car, in April of 1980 I totalled my Burnt-orange beauty in a drag race near the lagoon on Milwaukee's lakefront. Got a 12 point ticket for drag racing on a city street, I still hate myself at 16 for having wrecked my car, racing a Pontiac Grand Prix type Sj with a 455 engine. Lost my brakes, went right into the back of a damned dump truck. It was that or a granite street light. I'll never forget that day. Damn. Just, Damn.
