I found a 73 Formula with the TA handling Pkg. thing has stabilizers galore. It’s a 350 2 jet. Stock, 60,000 miles. Funny how mine like that TA is so well balanced they only lope on cold mornings for a brief period. That 350 will roll too! I was quite surprised. I wanted an Auto Trans too due to a bad clutching foot. It catches a second with no bark. Needs a shift kit. But, it won’t get one. It’s too perfect to touch. I found a Hurst Dual Gate shifter that fits. Brand new in the box. Guy had 30 in the attic of his speed shop, lucky.

The most beautiful body style ever. The " F " body. They say that includes any firebird or camaro from 67 - 2002. But it's accepted that it's firebird's and camaro's between 1970 and 73. The best for handling and ride. Not to mention looks. I tell you, Ive owned a '69, a '70, and a '79 firebird, and nothing ever beat my 1970 Pontiac yellow w/ blck vynl top.I bought that car in 1977, for $ 1,800.00 . I remember the sticker's asking price of $2,700.00. I was only 17 still, so I brought my dad. Who was a master at making a dealer do about anything to sell him a car. under 70.000 miles and no dents, or scratches, and a very unusual engine choice. Not a pontiac 350. or 400. Best we could figure factory ordered Camaro 350, RS. made available for the 1970 esprit. I remember wondering why my engine wasn't blue like all the other pontiac's I'd seen. My '70 would cruise at 115 mph. That's approaching top speed with that 255 hp stock 350. I used to blow the doors off al lot of Trans-ams and formula's. Besides Six-packs, almost any mopar. The couldn't turn and hold the road like me. That was fun!

@joequillun77902 жыл бұрын
@@bigl6322 Compared to the second gen, 69 T/As handle like a stage coach on wheels. Give me a 69 with a RAV 400-455, and I'ld love it,...at the drags. As for the driving experience. I use-ta own a drag 69, FB (428, muncie), and sitting behind the wheel of my 73 T/A (also Muncie), there's no comparison. The 73 T/A dash lay-out, the look of the long hood, and the high fenders, the shaker scoop poking thru, and running with the eng., if you've ever experienced one, you would have a different opinion. (But hey..."That's just me) :)
@bigl63222 жыл бұрын
@@joequillun7790 word... you’ve had a well stocked garage for sure...you earned an opinion. I will say tho, my 68 is making 575 ft lbs at 3800rpm. I stroked it to a 468. I built it for road rallies and that’s some vicious snap outta the corners. And I built the braking and suspension for the application. Granted, not a 69 t/a but I would pretty much do the same thing.. I don’t do drags cause you’re always wrenching on the broken shit and you only get a 6-12 second ride (depending on budget..lol) I damn sure want a longer ride than that. Same thing with my horses and rodeo... Don’t get me wrong, I love the 70’s t/a’s but I grew up with a mechanic father in the 60’s and got to spend some time with the first gen’s. I suppose I’m kinda stuck on them as they were my formative years...
@joequillun77902 жыл бұрын
@@bigl6322 Well, from my neighborhood as a youth, we couldn't afford a truck and trailer to carry cars to road courses. We drove our street cars to the drags for fun. I compare the drags, to a sprinter in track, or the pool. You train for one thing, and give it all you got. I myself would love to afford an SCCA T/A, but out of my reach...financially. And I'll bet your 68 468 on the back stretches is a rush like no-ones business. And with the up-dated suspension and braking, sounds like a blast. Congrats.
