@Salt Salt Guess what our favorite game was? The death rally all my friends used to have these in the apartment we lived at, we had a steep driveway and we would all launch our Tonka trucks down the driveway at full speed in a race to the bottom while they passed through a gauntlet of kids throwing rocks not just small rocks but some as big as bowling balls! They were in a race to the bottom that would send them into the street where some of them would be hit by actual cars and survive we would then run out into the street to get our cars and ride them like skateboards to the corner store for candy cigarettes and toxic bubble gum! Let me tell you this if I was to throw my truck at you. You would see how tough Tonka trucks are.

tips for you... don't use so much polish at once. It requires friction to work, too much means less friction and actually slows it down. To whiten wheels and other plastics, mix a paste of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda, once thickly coated wrap in plastic or put in a tight fitting container with a lid. You don't have to put it in the sun, just let it set at least overnight. Does a good job.

I wouldn’t recommend using peroxide on any plastic. Peroxide can be very damaging to plastic in a short amount of time, especially if the process is repeated each time the plastic re-yellows. A better method would be to simply place the plastic out in the sun for a few days. It may seem counterintuitive, but there’s a paper written by Dr. James Pickett, a chemist who worked on plastics degradation for GE for 30 years, about using the sun to de-yellow plastics. He says using strictly UV causes less brittleness to the plastic than using peroxide.
@tootall55595 жыл бұрын
@@KS-un4yb I'm no fancy pants Phd, but I call BS on Pickett. My own experiments tell me UV degrades the plastic much MORE than the drugstore variety peroxide. (it's actually quite weak) Now if you used a higher concentration of peroxide, that might be a different story. UV will actually cause most plastics to degrade to the point of disintegration. That's one of the flaws of landfills, burying the stuff is exactly the wrong thing to do if you want it to degrade.

Something to make your life just a little easier; Included on products packaged on rolls such as plastic film, aluminium foil, wax paper, etc., there are two half-circles on the outer box. Punching those half-circles inward anchors the roll within the box and makes extracting the film, foil or paper much easier since you have more leverage. Keep up the good work. Not trying to be nitpicky, there's a potentially dangerous misconception implied here. Tetanus is a bacterial infection, not rust poisoning; rust is just quick to form in conditions where the bacteria thrives and a good carrier for it. Blood contact by any means with contaminated soil can lead to a deadly infection. Conversely, rust without the bacteria won't cause tetanus.

Karri Koivusalo - so if you clean the rust, it’s fine?
@KarriKoivusalo5 жыл бұрын
@@fridtjofriibe5961 Probably, but only by the secondary disinfectant effect. Rust is not the cause, it's just a product of the conditions where contamination is likely, and a good surface for the bacteria to stick to.
