I have driven 2 right hand drive SMs in Australia. One professional conversion, one of the two converted by talented Citroen Car Club members and friends. The run in Bruce's Delta Blue 2.7 Carbie thru the Southern Highlands and up the South Coast was one the best driving experiences of my life.. The only issue he had after conversion was vapour lock in the triple carbies on hot days. People would be amazed to know that there are quite a number of SMs in Australia because former racing driver Peter McLeod was buying cheap Californian 4 headlights SMs, and later from elsewhere in the US. Renovating them, timing chain modification, some get converted to RHD plus glass covers over the four headlights. Prices now for European SMs over $100,000 Aus. RHD US SMs approaching $100k. The March 2022 CITIN combined Citroen car clubs of Australia at Cowra saw 4 SMS, plus Peter as guest speaker. The gala French themed dinner saw committee members as Napoleon, The Michelin Man, and De Gaul. Members as French sailors and naughty French school girls. The first car to Circumnavigate Australia was a tiny Citroen 5CV in 1926. Citroens ID/DS were assembled in Melbourne Australia from 1961 to 1966.. RHD. I have owned 17 Citroens over 51 years. Patrick Luciani. Certes puisqu'elle encore admirée par beaucoup d'amateurs de belles autos, et il faut reconnaitre qu'elle ne fait pas mauvaise figure au regard des modèles d'aujourd'hui. J'étais là le jour de sa présentation par Citroën sur les Champs-Elysées et il y avait foule à l'intérieur du stand de la marque. J'avais à l'époque vingt sept ans , belle époque tout de même où la vie parisienne était encore agréable ! Bon courage à toi. Pace e salute !

Elle a connu le succès bien au contraire ! Seulement les américains l’ont torpillé avec leur règlementation, alors que c’était son principal marché à l’export. Citroën n’a pas développé de gamme SM une berline par exemple ni donné de descendance… Elle aurait pu être la gamme Premium DS des années 70…

E.Viollet le Duc. Lorsque je dis qu'elle na pas connu le succès qu'elle méritait, je me réfère à sa diffusion assez limitée au regard des D. S par exemple . Je ne sais pas qui des américains ou des italiens ont plombé sa diffusion. je vous rappelle en effet qu'elle était équipée d'un moteur v6 d'origine Maserati et que cette firme rencontrait à l'époque des difficultés bien qu'épaulée par Citroën elle même dans l'incertitude du fait du retrait programmé de Michelin de la firme. Concernant l'Amérique, elle commençait à l'époque à "europeaniser"' ses modèles dans la mesure où ses véhicules ne se vendaient plus à l'exportation , souvenez vous du choc pétrolier ...Les usines Ford de Détroit étaient en grandes difficultés de même que chrysler et G. M. ̈. Qui ont dû abandonner plusieurs de leurs modèles et protectionnisme oblige les véhicules importés se voyaient soumis à des contraintes de sécurité....structures renforcées, pare chocs énormes etc ...donc vous apercevez que plusieurs inconvénients ont condamné la poursuite de la fabrication de cette splendide auto.

Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!! (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN & BEFVO laws)!!

You are pulling shit out of your ass. There are no such laws and non in planning. There are and will be new laws and regulations to slow down climate change, but nothing even remotely as drastic as you make it out to be. That's just anti-green bullshit. The greens don't even have that much power, they still have to discuss with the FDP and SPD in germany, who will not out out any such ban.
