U paint like I do ! I’ve been making sags & runs 4 50 years now! Best trick I know is spread a thin layer of spot putty over the run! Then using a hard small block I wet sand with 400,600, then 1,000! Then wet sand with a DA 1,000, 1,500, 2,000, 3,000,4,000! Then buff the crap out of it with a wool pad a couple times! Til it shines! Then polish with foam pad a time r 2! Then sum meguires swirl remover! Dun! 👌 50 years of tried & true methods will give U show quality paint work rite outta ur ol dusty garage! Great job, dude! 👍❤️

Wow, thank you! Part of the benefit of these videos are great tips like this. But why the spot putty?

looks really good Bob, special grats on saving the front fender with the runs. 3m perfect it III also has a 'hologram' remover think its the blue top one, cant quite remember, use with a black waffle pad on the final detail polish and it removes any of those super fine swirls left by the other polishes (last used it around 10 years ago so things may have moved on)

Thanks! I may get my buddy Ken, who's really good with detailing to help me from here.

It looks great!! How could a show car look any better? What polishing compound did you use to obtain such startling results?

Thank you! I did show it at 23:16, and it's also in the description, but it's 3M "Perfect-it III Machine Glaze"

get yourself a nice 70 dollar harbor freight da polisher and you control the machine better and do not worry about burn through as easy next time do a 2 by 2 foot or 4 by 4 foot space and perfect the box and move on you did a great job but with a better system and running the machine in a square area you can focus more on correcting the color and using the same pattern will likely the chance of less haze. i go over a 4by4 area 16 times no pressure just the machine doing the work. if you were close to Massachusetts i would show you how to perfect the technique its quite easier than it looks.. it is all about a system and repetitive action to give you the best results going over every surface area with same motion and i guarantee you will have a show car finish next time just focus on less space at a time. my advice in 20 years of technique. Stay blessed all love 🙏

I've never used a DA polisher before, but you're making me want to get one!
