No criticism from here on any part of this beautiful and rare Cougar! Great colors in and out, and these wheels and the scooped hood put the icing on it, and comes at a very fair price as well. Very well shown.

Wow - this car is too cool, guys! Huge Cougar fan - owned three of them in the not-so-distant past (a 67, 68 and a 70 XR-7) but never even knew there was a Cougar GT. This is one awesome looking car - with an even more awesome price tag. Sheesh, I've simply got to stop watching your videos until after I can turn loose of some extra cash. 😄

I see alot of cameros, and chevelles, and mustangs from this year. But a cougar this nice is very rare. You might not win the car show, but you will definitely turn heads. And I think that rear spoiler is factory. I think this whole car is factory. I love it. Except the rims and holly EFI, and that's an upgrade. I just bought the Holly EFI and the matching distributor. To put on a 65 mustang. It cost me 4200 bucks. And I done all the work myself. And it is a significant upgrade. The mustang starts right up, all the cold nature of the 289 is gone. And the horsepower was upgraded with the change. Even more than I expected. I'm sure that 351 Cleveland is hot. It's where it should of been in 71. If you was to slide a competition cam in that block, and give it a bigger exhaust. You could be pushing 400 horsepower. I love the Cleveland engine. They have always been sluggish. But with modern upgrades, they can rival modern 502 chevy engines. And it's almost impossible to blow them up. Ford put so much steel in to that block. They weigh almost as much as a diesel block.

Great looking and somewhat rare, my friend in High school had a cyclone GT with the 351 Cleveland, it was definitely a strong engine, use to give our Chevy 350s a run for our money.

I saw this Cool Cat for sale over a year ago by the owner. I wish Mercury offered the GT package with the XR7 's that I like better. I have a 71 XR7 that has been upgraded to be comprable with the GT in performance and handling. But if I could afford the GT I would buy it.

Pretty Cougar. The Cougar lost its appeal after ‘68. They seem to have become heavy and clumsy.

I'd be taking the silly rear spoiler off right away. The aerodynamics have it so there's hardly any air to push the rear downward and having that spoiler in the mix will only confuse grip

Someone chose all the right options. Don't normally like green paint but this is a nice dark aqua shade. Can't say the same for the interior, black would have been much better. What I really want to know is if this M code 351 is faster than the 429 CJ which was the top engine option in 71?
@briansearles44732 жыл бұрын
@@RCH45ACP Sounds crazy I know, but I read the 71 Boss 351 ran the quarter mile in 13.98 seconds at 104 miles per hour. The 71 Mach 1 429 CJ ran the quarter in 14.6 seconds at 99.4 mph. The Boss 351 was rated only 330 hp, torque was the same at 370 ft/lbs. The 0 to 60 times favored the 351 as well, 5.9 seconds vs 6.3 for the 429.

No I have not seen this whole video I've only watched the first minute of it but what a 351 Cleveland and that's a GT I'd prefer the 67 Mercury cougars but that'll do that one will do for me I have yet to see what the price is I'll have to click on the dark print so I can go down below and find it but that's a nice car love absolutely love the color if I had my way I'd pull out the interior and make it two-tone green and white oh yeah
