If youve got a really rusted on stubborn bolt you work it back and forth and spray penetrating oil in between attempts .pretty sure those on the column arent excessively cranked down .id have to go into the garage and check the manual but i would think 25 to 30 foot pounds .so once you e broken them free they should go pretty easy

Thanks for the information, really useful to know. Yes, you are correct about the torque setting for these nuts.

I had to do a streering rack for my 92 pontiac convertible and three bolts went rather easy. One was very stubborn so i sprayed it with penetrating oil tried it then waited overnight after ten days a came apart

I didnt need the car for anything so i just went in the garage every day after work and gave it a twist this way and that then a squirt of pb blaster and gave up for the night. A pro with a customer waiting couldnt get away with that

@@stevezielonko1386 Yes, you're right. When doing it yourself, best to take your time. I broke a bolt on the water pump and it took me a whole day to drill it out.

Hi Adam I've just fitted a new rubber boot on the steering shaft on my 74 Pontiac Trans Am, after successfully fitting it I checked the operation only to have the rubber boot pop out from under the retaining clip. Thinking I must have done something wrong I started Looking on U-tube and found lots of videos showing how to fit the boot, nothing I found seemed to explain the issue I was having until I came across your video. Taking note of the issue you had with your Riviera I followed your instructions and now have it installed safe and securely. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

Hey Adam, I hope you're okay mate. It's been over seven months since your last Riviera video upload.

Hey Erik! Yes, all good thanks mate. Sorry I have been quiet on the forum and on the videos. I moved about 6 months ago and am doing a big development on my new place, so that has absorbed my time. I've also done a video collaboration with my detailer but the video has been in edit with me forever because of my other commitments. I want to get it up soon though!

OMG my friends in Farnborough were just talking about a shop that specializes in old trucks. Wonder if it’s the same place. 🤔🤔

Yeah it could be! There is NAMCO and RPM, which are workshops and a parts shop, all in Farnborough.
