Good wishes from Virginia USA. I was a Moto Guzzi dealer in the 1960s. Contrary to popular opinion, I never owned a Guzzi that didn't get me home. Thank you for taking me along on your rides. After sixty four years riding my rides have gotten shorter. Beautiful country on this ride. It is a long time since I was up there. Happy riding to you. Richard

Thanks Richard. Great bikes and I'm sure the community was lucky to have you as a dealer. Age catches up with us all. I'm trying to pack in the miles before I no longer can. Stay well and best wishes.

Great video of a part of Canada that very few will ever see. The Dempster is not the only true Adventure highway in Canada. I truly wish I could ride those roads, keep the videos coming and the Old Guzzy running.

You Sir are a very brave man, maybe a bit crazy as well. To do that trip alone, on a bike, no a 50 year old bike, no a 50 year old Italian bike, is just mind boggling to me. I really enjoyed the video. The videography, music and your narration are first class. Truly inspirational. Thank you and much respect.

Thank you for the awesome video. 2 summers ago wife and I drove from B.C. to Newfoundland. Amazing experience. We wanted to do the trans lab highway to Quebec but were not able to so we are hoping to try again next summer. I think it is definitely something we should do. Thanks again.

@user-bw3dt3kf3z That's a long trip from BC to NF. The Trans Lab adds a couple of days but allows you to make a Loop. This was my third time that way (first before it was paved, second on a scooter). Have fun.

@@nick949eldo Yes it was a long trip we did not do it on a bike as I didn't have one. Used a new Atlas and tent trailer. Put 30,000 kms on. We hope to do it again with the Atlas as we are probably too old to try it on our GL1500. We now have a little Tab trailer and it should do the trick. I think you are amazing to have done it on you guzzi

Moto Guzzi should sponsor your channel Nick. Taking a 50+ year old loop frame into some of the remotest parts of sub-arctic Canada with confidence is one of the best testaments of the durability and dependability of these machines. There are other stories of course, the Andes, the Himalayans, the Outback. Your stories deserve their place among these. Thanks.

One of the good things about getting old and forgetful is that I only read your post about this being old footage consolidated AFTER I watched the whole thing again. I am pretty sure that I watched it last year already but I did not recall any of it :) Good stuff, all new footage to me !

There’s an interesting juxtaposition between a 50 year old Guzzi and its celebration on the internet. I’ve ridden some of that road and all the Trans-Lab Highway twice; once years ago when it wasn’t much more than a mud ‘n rocks trail and two years ago when much of it was paved. I’m 72 now and hope to ride it again next year (2025) but I neither have the guts nor the wrenching skills to ride it on a heritage bike. Kudos!

Great video Nick. I always wanted a Moto Guzzi. I had my eye on a Norge last year but I didn’t act fast enough. I now have my eye on a 1993 1000 SP 3. You’re a true adventurer, and I don’t know if I would go the the same length of adventure as you do. But I am very inspired.

@southhillfarm2795 thanks friend. I hear the SP3s are great, solid bikes. A couple of generations earlier than the Norge, but fully capable, real world classics. Happy hunting.

Hi, I’ve owned several Guzzies, one of the very best was the SPiii. I originally bought it in Mora, Minnesota and drove home to Polson, Montana through several snowstorms. Great gas mileage and performance. Only problem was when the front bearings all feel out on the highway. Guzzi had a recall about this bearing issue. As it turns out the supplier of the spacer in the front axle was just a bit too short. Make sure it’s been replaced. Loved the bike!!!

So, the question is, being that far north have you ever had the chance to see a polar bear? I know they den in the summer, but there might be a chance. That line of nor west freighter canoes was impressive.
@nick949eldo
@nick949eldo 4 ай бұрын
@hillbilly4christ638 short answer, thankfully no. I mean, I'd like to see one, from a healthy distance and preferably with a big fence between us. They occasionally make is as far south as the lower end of James Bay, but they are usually further north.

To think that it was all under two miles of ice 13,000 years ago. As was the Baltic Sea. And now it may become our new vast temperate forests due to climate change. Oh, to live on PEI.
