Looking great. I picked up a bucket list bike from my youth last Sunday. 1985 Kawasaki. Will be doing a full restoration on it. Looking to start work after Thanksgiving. Have a wonderful holiday.

I'v used Testors on emblems and things like this for 40+ years. The stuff holds up well, very durable paint.

Hey Howard - Happy US Thanksgiving from up here in Canada! I envy your ability to do stuff like that meticulous painting. I used to be able to do that, but can't seem to come up with the required patience anymore.

You sound like me, I had my XL out the other day.... What XL & CB do you have? I'm enjoying working on the CB500, gives me something to do during boring winters, but also looking forward to taking it for a ride.

@@peteralcorn6453 Nice... I really like the XL250. I can cruise 55-60 mph or putt through the woods on it, A great all around bike.

The CB500 is certainly on her way to becoming a great looking bike. Happy Thanksgiving to you, Jeremy and your American viewers!

Im very happy with how the engine looks. I guess wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving is useless, as it's only a US holiday...... but have a feast anyway and a great November 28th! Hard to believe it's almost another year passing by.

@@OldCarAlley I'll back date those wishes 6 weeks as our Thanksgiving was October 14th. Dont eat to much turkey today! Time goes by quicker and quicker as we age. (Or it seems too!) I hope you have a productive weekend doing what you do best. Always great seeing the progress on the bike!
@OldCarAlleyАй бұрын
@@Martin48964 I'm not a turkey fan, in fact I avoid turkey! I do like the ham though. I'm making my sweet potato casserole to take to dinner this afternoon. Happy belated Thanksgiving for my Canadian viewers.

That motor looks beautiful. End of summer I picked up an 83 CB450 Nighthawk. Got it running nice after working on it. Very Cool Motor.

I wondering about the other wheel on the machine. Not the typical polisher with compound. Although you lead me down the path of finding other wheels today. That is good. My bikes are running and I've got them Insured and plated. The next level is full detail. Just like you are doing. Cheers.
@OldCarAlleyАй бұрын
One wheel is stitched tight, making it good for cutting with course compounds, the other wheel is fluffy and great for finial polishing with the finer compounds. I got the buffing compounds from Harbor Freight too. There sticks that come in a tube. I use the gray compound on the left wheel, green on the right wheel.

@@OldCarAlley Thank You. I will be doing more detail work over the winter.
